Ook! CWL Whatever you do, don't say monk-aaaaahhh! My favourite character in all the books with only 'Cut me own throat Dibbler' and 'Grimes' from the Watch coming close. Mind you there are so many other fantastic characters in his writing it's hard to choose at times. I feel a new thread coming on............... CWL

I enjoy anything by Bernard Cornwell. He makes history interesting. I particularly liked his version of Azincourt

Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers Guide) wrote some extremely funny books, pity he didn't write more before his premature death.

I enjoy the Alex Cross books but was dissappointed with the films. Morgan Freeman, whilst being an excellent actor, wasn't at all how I'd envisioned Cross.

That's exactly what I thought Fairs!! I think possibly Denzil Washington would have been better Or Wesley Snipes. (I think that's his name )
Shads I've read them all I get them as they come out, from the library If you go on Amazon, you'll see all the ones he has coming out, there are loads of them!!! I put in a lot of requests in the library, usually a couple of months in advance of publication, they see me coming and run!!! ;D

I liked the earlier Stephen King, but not so keen on the ones after Geralds Game The same with Dean Koontz, but he seems to be going back to his old style. Another "horror" writer I like is James Herbert, but he's not written anything for a while. I've got his latest (not out yet) Ash, on order in the library. I like Shaun Hutson as well. I was very disappointed with Dan Browns' follow up to the Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol

I would suggest if you have not already done so read some of his earlier books, Digital Fortress, Angles and Demons (far superior to Da Vinci Code) and Deception Point. Too much was made of Da Vinci Code and the film version IMO. CWL

Agree with CWL that Angels and Demons is the best of Brown's works up to now. I found Deception Point and Digital Fortress a bit far fetched but exciting enough.
