I've just been listening to a radio programme called the reunion on BBC radio 4 on my I touch Bragg it's about the Bosnia Serb war and it makes me proud that this country gets involved in conflicts when things are so blatantly wrong I will always be proud to be British As long as we do the right thing I love to live in a country that embraces peoples diffrences So long as we get our priorities right I always will it's not about being pc it's about having good values as My grandad taught me and he was a army man please listen to the program I recommended I think I'm right and if you don't agree you are100/wrong

I agree up to a point chris but most of these countries are at war because the politicans think it's right, take a good luck at what's going on and half the time this country has to stick it's neb in when it's not needed. I'm was also born her and I'm proud to be English, but I certainly don't agree with everything that we get involved with.

Chris great to see you are patriotic and have strong opinions about what it is to be British. However there are going to be people who will disagree with you about this country's involvement in conflicts throughout the World and not all of them will be 100% wrong in doing so. CWL

I thought Britain consisted of England Ireland Scotland & Wales but Scotland & Wales are going down the road of independence and like what has already been said you wont hear the Scots or the welshfor that matter referring to themselves as British . The only country who fly the union flag are the English so whats the point I was born in England and im proud of it. The way i see it Scotland Ireland & Wales are feathering their own nest until they ready to pull out of the union all together Because if it happened tomorrow just look at all those scots Irish & welsh MPs who have seats in England who would be out of jobs....And they are not going to vote for that are they

cant think of anything to be proud of, the country is run by idiots, the justice system is a joke, most the companies are foreign, the immigrants get treated better than us, and now they are going to start selling of parts of the country to the French, and on top of that not all pubs sell Blue WKD.

Your right Skint and by the time we get an English parliament anything of worth will have been relocated to Scotland Ireland & wales ....Apart from the Immigrants England can keep them after all we will need all the hard gafters to rebuild. What i find hard to take is the four countries that make up the Union were nothing before the union and now they want to dismantle it

Going back to the OP I dont think that the intention was to discuss Britishness but rather the things that we can be proud of. I know many serving in say WWII are proud to have done so and rightly so.Thats surely why we have the parades and poppies etc. In recent years I'd say theres little to be proud of.We arent intervening anymore on humanitarian grounds-its to do with trade, deals and profit. This crap about the special relationship we have with America is especially sickening-even now I remember the special relationship Thatcher and Reagan. Weve been poodles ever since. And trying to keep up with it-sticking our noses into everyones business-well the potentially profitable ones anyway No big rush when atrocities were committed in Rwanda but straight in making fools of ourselves in Libya

Your right there is only one flag but that was not the point i was raising. The point i was getting at was we are part of a union called Great Britain and fly the union flag....at least the English do
