Will some one please note the flag of saint george is the English flag. the Union flag is in the name. ;D The St George flag is the emblem of England, I have one that goes in my window when it needs to. I don't have a Union Jack as it's made up of 3 flags Northern Ireland and Scotland and they have their own flag I don't want one of those. Attachments:

chris i never said anything about wanting to live in Bosnia or Angola, i just said at the moment i cant see anything we have to be proud of, Nick we may need grafters to build this country back up but that does not mean we need the immigrants, we have plenty of unemployed people but 9 out of 10 jobs go to the immigrants, the goverment call our unemplyed work shy, lazy, call them a benefit culture but there are no jobs for them and how do they think they feel getting turned down for job after job and immigrants getting them instead, im not saying we should throw them out we allowed them in so it would be unfair to do that but we should not allow anymore in till we get this countries unemployment problem sorted because it's just going to get worse, we used to have ship building, mining, steel factories, a car industry, clothing factories, a rope industry, we still use the items these industries supplied but they are now all imported, even our football clubs are getting took over by foreigners, is there anything left in Britain that is british owned.

I thought Britain consisted of England Ireland Scotland & Wales but Scotland & Wales are going down the road of independence and like what has already been said you wont hear the Scots or the welshfor that matter referring to themselves as British . The only country who fly the union flag are the English so whats the point I was born in England and im proud of it. The way i see it Scotland Ireland & Wales are feathering their own nest until they ready to pull out of the union all together Because if it happened tomorrow just look at all those scots Irish & welsh MPs who have seats in England who would be out of jobs....And they are not going to vote for that are they I am sorry padd but there is only one flag and that is the flag of saint george, the red ensign that the royal navy fly when going in to battle. Sorry Polly, the RED ensign is flown by the Merchant Navy!! The Royal Navy fly the WHITE ensign Irrespective of the above, I too prefer to call myself English

Skint to be honest although we have lost industries I do wonder how we would manage if we chucked immigrants out . I know that the hospital Mr Shads works in is propped up by agency workers who dont come cheap but are prepared to put the hours in,travel a long way and an awful lot are immigrants.Unemployment is rife in Walker and I wonder why the hospital has problems getting staff locally. Theres even a chippie round the corner with a help wanted sign in the window. And about twenty lads and lasses hanging around outside doing bog all. They dont look like they are eager to work

shads how do you know the twenty lads and lasses dont already have a job, or they may be doing a full time college course, i did not say we should chuck the immigrants out but not let any more in, and for those of you going on about the flag of saint George been the English flag, well saint George was not English and if thats his flag, see even our bloody flag was an import .

Your right skint he was'nt English
St. George is believed to have been born in Cappadocia (now Eastern Turkey) in the year A.D. 270. He was a Christian. At the age of seventeen he joined the Roman army and soon became renowned for his bravery. He served under a pagan Emperor but never forgot his Christian faith.
When the pagan Emperor Diocletian started persecuting Christians, St. George pleaded with the Emperor to spare their lives. However, St. George's pleas fell on deaf ears and it is thought that the Emperor Diocletian tried to make St. George deny his faith in Christ, by torturing him. St George showed incredible courage and faith and was finally beheaded near Lydda in Palestine on 23 April, 303.
In 1222, the Council of Oxford declared April 23 to be St George’s Day and he replaced St Edmund the Martyr as England’s patron saint in the 14th century. In 1415, April 23 was made a national feast day. However he was made our Patron Saint.
