Being patriotic is fine, but it annoys me that the right wing lunatic fringes hijack our flag to promote their racist and extremist agenda.

chris i never said anything about wanting to live in Bosnia or Angola, i just said at the moment i cant see anything we have to be proud of, Nick we may need grafters to build this country back up but that does not mean we need the immigrants, we have plenty of unemployed people but 9 out of 10 jobs go to the immigrants, the goverment call our unemplyed work shy, lazy, call them a benefit culture but there are no jobs for them and how do they think they feel getting turned down for job after job and immigrants getting them instead, im not saying we should throw them out we allowed them in so it would be unfair to do that but we should not allow anymore in till we get this countries unemployment problem sorted because it's just going to get worse, we used to have ship building, mining, steel factories, a car industry, clothing factories, a rope industry, we still use the items these industries supplied but they are now all imported, even our football clubs are getting took over by foreigners, is there anything left in Britain that is british owned. Skint to be honest although we have lost industries I do wonder how we would manage if we chucked immigrants out . I know that the hospital Mr Shads works in is propped up by agency workers who dont come cheap but are prepared to put the hours in,travel a long way and an awful lot are immigrants.Unemployment is rife in Walker and I wonder why the hospital has problems getting staff locally. Theres even a chippie round the corner with a help wanted sign in the window. And about twenty lads and lasses hanging around outside doing bog all. They dont look like they are eager to work Since I'm no longer resident in Britain I really don't know the answer but I know that in other countries the problem often lies in the fact they receive such decent benefits and aids that it's not worth their while working. On the subject of immigrants I read somewhere that they were enterering Britain at the rate of one per minute. Is that a fact?

I didn't realise you lived away Fairs, I thought you just worked abroad, sort of like oil rig workers. I can see how a meet would be difficult then, I thought it was something like month on, month off, and we could "catch" you on your month off

So is there any point to the Union Jack flag anymore if people consider themselves seperate? Shads theres no point the only people who beleive the union still exists are the politicians

How could they do that tho nick? Surely they must have a budget and prioritise where funds get allocated? I know that in Scotland University fees are lower for Scottish residents, prescriptions are potentially going to be free and life saving drugs such as Avastin more readily available. These are all things we used to have-well perhaps not avistin-alot of people have asked for and been refused that including one of our HYS section members who tragically lost her life whilst trying to fundraise the cost of her own treatment Its a genuine question-how comes they can still offer this when the English cant?

Probably because we cant afford it...We are to busy subsidising the Scots the Welsh and the Irish. Look at the cabinet of the last governments tenure the majority of the top posts were held by Scots Welsh & Irish. Give England its own parliament and you will see things improve for the English
