It's people who cause deaths.....................they just happen to be in the name of whichever religion those responsible follow! Don't be fooled into confusing the two......... CWL Wellyes obviously it's people who kill other people, but it's dammed religion that causes people to engage in conflict!! My sky fairy is bigger than your sky fairy What the hell is it about religion/beliefs that seems to bring out the worst in people??? It's been going on since the time of the Crusades and before!! Exactly and my point is regardless of whatever the so called justification be it religion, land, colour, race, oil, gold, you name it? It is still people who decide to try and kill each other. The sad thing is, we as a species are very good at it! Only people can stop doing it....................The real challenge is to get them to do so. CWL

If during the education demonstrations ...A month or so ago protesters had taken up arms what do you think would happen yes thats right troops on the streets and prepared to fire on the protesters more or less the same as whats happening in Libya. Gaddafi is a nutter and should be deposed but its not for the west to get involved its not our fight the west would be hypocrites to get involved because of what Gaddafi is doing
If the other Arab countries want him out let them get him out like i said in a previous post they have the means to do it so let them use their shiny new tanks and aircraft and sort their own mess out

Well here we go United Nations have given the green light for a no fly zone ...Oh yes and the Americans have at the last moment added to the mandate its no longer just a no fly zone they can go after tanks and field guns etc What started as a well intentioned British idea has been hijacked by the Americans and turned into an invasion all but in name The West will never learn ...Lets see how long it will be before theres troops on the ground

Well I dont believe this decision has been taken out of any form of humanitarian concern. We didnt bother with Darfur,Rwanda or Tibet amongst others. And look at what Mugabe has gotten away with for all these years If we are intending to take action then surely this is an indication that we are indeed "taking sides" so to speak and are looking for a regime change.Wasnt there also a no fly policy over Iraq in the nineties that didnt result in the removal of Saddam-so perhaps that is why we have gone further this time? And if Lybian civilians need protecting from Gadaffi then why have we ignored them for all these years-we werent too bothered last year or the years before that. And what happens if-despite our actions Gaddafis forces still are prevailling? Will we send in our troops then-pretty likely I'd think The west makes me sick at times-all those photos of Politicians and royalty cosying up to these dictatorships ,ignoring the plight of ordinary citizens for decades then when our oil deals look a bit shaky suddenly declaring their humanitarian interest-yeah right

If the object of the excersise was humanitarian, we'd have gone into North Korea and Zimbabwe years ago!!! It's about oil, pure and simple And why are we not in Barhain or Saudi, they are doing exactly the same!! Is it because they have a Royal Family??? Bloody hypocrites the lot of them!!!

You know Ann i would not put it past the USA to have planted the seeds of discontent amongst the population just so they can put their own people in power. Remember Iraq they used weapons of mass destruction to rally the west into taking action and for what ..Thousands of body bags...some of these western governments are worse then the governments they kick out they dont give a s+ite about innocent lives ...OIL RULES OK

Have you heard that Gadaffi is saying that he is fighting Al Queda.....I know "he would say that wouldn't he" but could there just be something in it......it may be that there is some "would be" anti west terrorists among the rebels. That would complicate a complicated situation further if true.

Ive heard him say that Jazz and I also wonder about a few other things
For instance-the assumption that the rebel forces are in the majority.

Yes, there are a few "grey" areas.....It'll all come out in the wash I suppose....people repositioning themselves, who's going to side with who etc. Lets hope that the outcome will be a genuine democratic liberal society.

The most telling comment I have heard during this situation was said by someone in Libya from the BBC in a report about Benghazi. "Colonel Gaddafi has over forty years experience of running rings around the West." How true is that.................Cameron and the other politicians are hamstrung by their own rules. Gaddafi just gets on with it regardless. Just for good measure if you doubt what I say the Libyan government broke a ceasefire today with France's UN envoy predicting an imminent military action. We shall see.............. CWL

Ive heard him say that Jazz and I also wonder about a few other things For instance-the assumption that the rebel forces are in the majority. Shads that assumption is all the west needs to justify the action they are taken. As for the point about al queda being the ones stirring it up in Libya Why not....Don't we have something similar in this country every time a demonstration gets ugly the government always blame militants or far left extremists and we are expected to beleive them
