You have to score goals to succeed in football. We created one chance in 90 minutes which I'll admit Best took well. Nice (whatever it means) to be in fourth, more by luck than design, but without goalscorers this will can go one way.

Not only do we lack goalscorers, but we also lack any structure in the buildup play. Only hitting long balls on Best/Ameobi/Ba won't cut it as when they win those balls there's no one there to support them. Pardew needs to adress this and get the midfield more involved in our attacks and fast.
Had QPR played a sharper forward than Bothroyd yesterday we might have lost four or five nil. Now Coloccini and Taylor (even Simpson did a decent game) did another great game and luck was on our side. But we can't ride on our luck the entire season, it's likely to run out sooner or later.

We are useless in front of goal!! There is never anyone there when the ball eventually gets there!!! I suppose it's good to get into a decent position, before we meet the "big guns"!! It's like Snakes & Ladders!!! And we'll soon meet the snakes!!!!

if any proof were needed,it was right there last night,we were like Custers last stand, how we held out was due to Bothroyd being as bad as Shola, and a huge gigantic slice of luck, fatso must have been rubbing his hands at Collys performance, what a sell on.

I don't believe it's all down to Luck! So now The Toon have become a lucky side....................... struggle to believe that as not a lot of it been about for 40 odd years that I can remember. Our defence is playing out of it's skin and why should we worry about other teams lack of a goalscorer? We have enough of a problem in that department ourselves. Really did wonder on his display last night what all the fuss was about Bothroyd a while back that got him called up into the England squad. Also as good as Wright Phillips looked last night I still think he will play in fits and starts for QPR. He was up against a makeshift, right footed, part time midfielder, come left back and still didn't manage to find the back of the net. Our lack of a goal scorer will come back to haunt us and we need to get that left back spot sorted. Just about everything came down that righthand side............ That said I'll take Eight points in the bag and lets hope we can grind out a few more away from home again this Saturday against The Villa. CWL

I say again this is the fatman gambling with players(or lack of them) and rolling the dice at the black and white rollette table......and as usual he wins......

Canny I think you are dead right regarding the gambling comment as it is Ashley to a tee. How he is willing to risk everything by taking a chance. I firmly believe when Best scored the two goals against Fulham it made Ashley`s mind up not to sign a striker, another gamble by fatso. ATB

I said "I don't believe it's all down to Luck!". If it is where has it suddenly come from? You trying to convince me the FCB generates the stuff.................. Hell no wonder he is a billionaire as his s**t must turn to gold during the night. Sections of the Toon Army hate The Fat Controller with real venom and would never credit Mikey with anything to do with The Toon. However with the kind of luck you believe he has Canny perhaps we should be bloody thankful he is there! At least give the lads some credit for earning a point despite it being a backs to the wall display. I would take that kind of result against a defeat any day of the week. Don't get me wrong it was awful to watch and I accept a Manure, Citeh, Chelski and the like would not in all probability miss many of the chances created last night. Then again those teams have the talent to exploit them more. QPR because of their so called quality signings brought into the Club recently (including Joey B) were built up big time before this game and regarded by some as a shoe in to take the points. Well it didn't happen and I'm one satisfied Mag today. That old football adage also comes into play...................... you are only as good as your last result. Well we got a point that moved us up to fourth. I never expected that before the season started, but would certainly take it over being fourth off bottom. Only once ten league games have gone will I finally decide what kind of season I believe it may turn into. Not getting excited over our position in the table, just taking some pleasure out of what has been achieved so far..............after all this may be as good as it gets. CWL

Hey CWL....who peed in your cornflakes? I agree with everything you say, but the fatman is gambling with our future and using his betting modus operandum and the luck that seems to follow. This is the guy who gives a 2 miilion tip to a tennis player , but wont spend 2million on the team....its the long odds always with him. I will say its interesting to watch, as long as you dont get bitter and twisted at the way he operates , because guess what...there's f.all we can do about it. Have a nice day..........lol(nice to see you agitated though)

CWL Yo Stroppy .......in your rant , you actually came up with a good idea......can we have a shot at predicting our EPL position after 10 games? Maybe add some points to the prediction league? My guess is 10th. BTW November looks horrendous(games 12 and 13)
