What can you do marky? I don't want to accept it. But what can you do? Sitting on forums talking won't help. Protests will help. Best and Lovenkrands are average strikers. I accept that. But please don't forget Lovenkrands's 16 goals that helped us back into the PL. No I'm not Geordie so I guess that makes me inferior to you. But tell you what I like a player who gives his all whilst pulling on the shirt and Lovenkrands did that in our CCC season. I don't want a great team with the top players. I want a team that sweats blood on the pitch and shows pride for playing for Newcastle United. I would love a NO 9 however I wouldn't want to see the shirt given away just for the sake of someone having it. The NO 9 has to be earned and not given. I don't like the current owner and the lies he tells and the deceit / dishonesty. But what can you do? Over Ashley's 4 years it has been proven that he is stronger that the Geordie nation. We have got to accept that. We start to re-build after Ashley goes. Till then you and me can fight and argue all we want. We want the same thing but fighting agaisnt each other won't help. Ashley might be smiling when seeing the fans divided. Ashley needs to go!!!! inferior?? you're twisting it,I don't consider anybody "INFERIOR" WE HAVE OUR OWN WAY OF THINKING, dont' talk to us about blood and sweat,we've seen plenty, the fairs cup was won on it,with our hard as nails "wyn the leap",ray Clements knocked out McDonalds teeth out, plenty blood there,I could go on and on,you said just accept what's given, NO CHANCE. WE HAVE OUR OWN WAY OF THINKING...dont' talk to us ....

Not offended at all and yes there is a lot of negativity around. A great deal of it is well founded in my opinion but I am capable of forming my own opinion and making up my own mind. Points on the board are fine by me but let's not get carried away - a draw against the worst Arsenal team for years, a derby match bereft of entertainment but a fantastic result and a cup win (just) against a div 1 team. I truly hope the success continues but with a squad as thin as this one I can see big, big problems looming on the horizon - when suspensions and injuries kick in. As you once said (or something similar) of a post I did recently........ There speaks the horrible voice of reason.............. I honestly believe that's half the trouble we have as supporters at the moment................. We all want the team to do well and be successful, however the serious doubts it will happen under The Fat Controller just will not go away. The shear number of times they screw up just out weighs the times they get it right. As you know I talk to many other fans of clubs from around the country, but very few are as knowledgable about the game as members of The Toon Army. That's why so many of us can see the difficulties and weaknesses for ourselves in this squad then wonder why nothing is done about it. It's another reason the bulls dung spouted from the likes of Lambsarse gets such a battering as well. Mikey and Decka are just not interested in whether we are successful as a Club, be it finishing 7th or 17th it matters not to them. Their whole money making strategy relies upon NUFC staying in the Premier League. That is enough to suit their purposes. For all Relegation is a thing they fear happening they probably only look at that in terms of the parachute payment and how much time it may take to bounce back. Everything to do with making a profit and bugger all to do with winning a title or trophy. Need to go and lie down in a dark room now................ that bloody voice of reason has given me a headache! CWL

Clearly I misunderstood as I thought he had said that before the window closed not afterwards. Also although I firmly believe we will never do anything under this Owner or his management team all the negative stuff about selling players is becoming tedious. Don't get me wrong I will moan like hell when it happens, but until then it's just something else which makes me want to pack in altogther and walk away! Just about every forum and Blog I look at is full of the same and anyone who has the least bit of a positive attitude is shouted down. Even the most dissappointed of supporters must still recognise this is our best Premier League start since 1996. I almost get the impression some supporters want the side to fail just to be proved correct. Thank goodness being involved in junior and watching none league football keeps me grounded! Fairsy please don't take this the wrong way it is not a pop at you personally. I just wondered if you are possibly being influenced by such negative stuff as it's everywhere. CWL I almost get the impression some supporters want the side to fail just to be proved correct. - Talk about hitting the nail on the head ... Exactly what happens on this forum as well. I don't want to be different from the rest and am definitely not an attention seeker. However, seeing so much negativity around baffles me. Staying positive and supporting the team and the manager should not be mixed with supporting that sad pathetic excuse of our owner. Come the end of the day I want to see NUFC survive and even do well on the pitch because thats what every NUFC fan (Geordie or not) wants at the end of the day. CWL, thanks for backing my opinion even in the slightest bit. Not being a Geordie means I am constantly playing at a disadvantage. Thanks. Not an attention seeker but start threads like "I'm back" Aug 15 on a forum with about 20 regular users. Plus disgusting language which does nothing more than alienate others.

By the way who was the one who noticed polly when he's gone? Did you notice the thread I created for Polly? If anything that shows that I am anything but non-selfish. Not that I need to prove anything. Please be fair in your criticism. Criticism like this brings on the digusting language

In my mind its all about how much ambition you have, if you crave success and you have had a sniff of watching quality you do not want to lose it, if your happy with your lot and go with the flow you cannot moan at people who want and expect better. The problem is it does not go hand in hand, it will always create bad feeling. Just imagine what Nottingham Forest supporters must feel like, European cup winners stuck in the Championship, going nowhere, but there will always be supporters there just like Mr Magpie happy supporting the less ambitious status quo. Well im afraid mediocrity is not what I want or expect for/from Newcastle United. It must be said that there is a cost to ambition and that success does not come cheap, but if you can apply some common sense into the equation and come up with the right blend of players, strip design, etc. And meet the supporters halfway, utilise and harness the passion supporters have for the club then it could indeed be cost effective. ATB Don't live in the past. Welcome to modern football...Mediocrity is all you'll get.....I don't settle for it either but I support the club through thick and thin. Simples. You do it too but do it with a lot of moaning. Tbh you might as well stop moaning coz the era of the entertainers is over....Get used to this...We can always hope for the sexy football and maybe a trophy but sadly that's fantasy. I'm bringing you to reality....

Modern football - Mediocrity ;D ;D ;D Now there's a contradiction if ever there was one. Have you seen the football Manure, Man City, Chelsea, Barcelona etc. etc. are playing these days?
You accept your mediocrity Magpie and live it with whilst others continue to remember days gone by and what still can be attained with the right parameters in place.
Accept mediocrity - Never!!! In no shape or form.
