Magpie! How could you possibly "know" there was no striker coming in?

What can you do marky? I don't want to accept it. But what can you do? Sitting on forums talking won't help. Protests will help. Best and Lovenkrands are average strikers. I accept that. But please don't forget Lovenkrands's 16 goals that helped us back into the PL. No I'm not Geordie so I guess that makes me inferior to you. But tell you what I like a player who gives his all whilst pulling on the shirt and Lovenkrands did that in our CCC season. I don't want a great team with the top players. I want a team that sweats blood on the pitch and shows pride for playing for Newcastle United. I would love a NO 9 however I wouldn't want to see the shirt given away just for the sake of someone having it. The NO 9 has to be earned and not given. I don't like the current owner and the lies he tells and the deceit / dishonesty. But what can you do? Over Ashley's 4 years it has been proven that he is stronger that the Geordie nation. We have got to accept that. We start to re-build after Ashley goes. Till then you and me can fight and argue all we want. We want the same thing but fighting agaisnt each other won't help. Ashley might be smiling when seeing the fans divided. Ashley needs to go!!!!

Magpie! How could you possibly "know" there was no striker coming in? None more so than any of us knew that one was coming in. But I took an educated guess considering our cheap excuse of an owner and that he already spent a lot (by his low standards) this summer.

Fairsy, Magpie just had the confidence to say it.....................the closer it got to deadline day the more likely we would not get a striker. After the swoop for Santon it was only my blind bloody optimism that said NUFC could still pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring someone in. Much against my better judgment I may add. Such is life..........................should have known better than put my faith in Mikey and Co. to deliver. CWL

Loads of question marks over that approach like what form will they take for a start? As things stand there's just not enough leverage that can be applied to get Mikey to move on. CWL

Oh ok ....so you agree they are just useless?.........it matters not...because as we slide to the relegation zone we will actually see how useless they are. They are average but average is what fatman has made Newcastle. Medoricty is what you should expect. I have come to accept that. The sooner you accept it the better. That's why I knew no striker was coming in. Maybe I'm thinking too much like Ashley and co....but following this club and looking at the way these people work I know how they think. And by the way I don't think he'll leave any time soon. Worse thing is the bastard is removing the sign of the top....f*****g c**t I dont accept mediocrity for my team.....never.......it will never be better with these two goons in our forward line........they are both ucking fuseless.... Fasten your belt for the drop.

Confidence after the event - wonderful thing - bit like the governing body at SJP. Clearly I misunderstood as I thought he had said that before the window closed not afterwards. Also although I firmly believe we will never do anything under this Owner or his management team all the negative stuff about selling players is becoming tedious. Don't get me wrong I will moan like hell when it happens, but until then it's just something else which makes me want to pack in altogther and walk away! Just about every forum and Blog I look at is full of the same and anyone who has the least bit of a positive attitude is shouted down. Even the most dissappointed of supporters must still recognise this is our best Premier League start since 1996. I almost get the impression some supporters want the side to fail just to be proved correct. Thank goodness being involved in junior and watching none league football keeps me grounded! Fairsy please don't take this the wrong way it is not a pop at you personally. I just wondered if you are possibly being influenced by such negative stuff as it's everywhere. CWL

Not offended at all and yes there is a lot of negativity around. A great deal of it is well founded in my opinion but I am capable of forming my own opinion and making up my own mind. Points on the board are fine by me but let's not get carried away - a draw against the worst Arsenal team for years, a derby match bereft of entertainment but a fantastic result and a cup win (just) against a div 1 team. I truly hope the success continues but with a squad as thin as this one I can see big, big problems looming on the horizon - when suspensions and injuries kick in.

CWL I almost get the impression some supporters want the side to fail just to be proved correct. - Talk about hitting the nail on the head ... Exactly what happens on this forum as well. I don't want to be different from the rest and am definitely not an attention seeker. However, seeing so much negativity around baffles me. Staying positive and supporting the team and the manager should not be mixed with supporting that sad pathetic excuse of our owner. Come the end of the day I want to see NUFC survive and even do well on the pitch because thats what every NUFC fan (Geordie or not) wants at the end of the day. CWL, thanks for backing my opinion even in the slightest bit. Not being a Geordie means I am constantly playing at a disadvantage. Thanks.
