Are the EC & EG forums down i have just tried to log on to both
sites and it came up server error

They might be Nick, I tried earlier today and it came up with page not found! Maybe they've pulled it 'cos they are sick of all the bickering over councillors!!! Gives obsession a whole new meaning ;D

I know what some of them will be saying ....It was ok until
the EC lot turned up....Well if its true that it has gone
TOUGH ...I wonder if any will seek sanctuary here

Well, they are welcome here, but if they start blethering on about councillors, they'll get the bums rush!! ;D It's probably just got Gremlins in it, I remember the EC one going down a couple of times.

I just tried and got the same thing-mind with the EC we did get the forum notice thing and I didnt see that on the EG so it might just been the usual stuff we sometimes had over the years

They can get stuffed if they try and blame us if it goes down the pan............we never bothered with the Councillor stuff, and that is the same scurve or their board as racism was on ours!!!

And while I'm on the subject, I think that it is diabolical that a Counsillor posted anything to do with council matters on a two bit forum, alongside, what is your favorite song!!! These people are supposed to be respected members of the community working for the community, not arguing like fish wives in a forum!

Don't matter anyway, coz we have this place now thanks to Shads n Ann ;D

If the EG forum does go down I really do think it will be more to do with existing issues on there than anything we have done.Although we did try and explain issues that got the EC closed I think some posters just didnt want to hear it.

I think once you get into the realms of trying to identify posters,revealing emails etc you are starting to tread on very dangerous ground in terms of keeping your forum open.Thats just my personal opinion but we all saw what happened on the EC.

That is something that some of us did try to point out as well as the disastrous affect trolls can have-look at the weekend one we used to have.

And the moderation-another reason why I think the EG is in danger.There are two mods on there-but it was mentioned on one of the threads that only one was currently active-dont know if thats correct but even so two is quite a few for such a large forum-for gawds sake-weve got three at the moment and we hope to have more to ensure that this forum is properly looked after as often as possible.

If the EG becomes too problematic to moderate then I can see the plug being pulled because it will become more trouble than its worth-thats what happened to ours and since the same people are running the show over there I dont see why it would be any different unfortunately.

Aye, that's what I was going to stay, that the same people are running it! TBH, with all the sheanigans with councillors, I'm surprised it's lasted this long!!! I've got nowt against councillors going on a forum, but I do think they should say who they are. They shouldn't do it anon. They would never be able to be impartial, just as an ordinary poster could, so either declare who they are or stay off! But your right shads, unless they get their act together, plug will be pulled. Nothing is ever debated there, just whinging on about bloody councillors!!!! It's as boring as immigrants/Muslims was on the EC!!!!

I've no objection whatsoever to a councillor being a member of a forum and commenting on the more mundane threads, however, I strongly disagree with an anon councillor posting political views, whereby he or she has inside knowledge, I find that unfair as Ive said previously to people who are not privvy to such views.

I am sorry Ann but i disagree I think they should remain anon
as a councilor because what you dont know wont hurt you
who is to say we dont have a councilor amongst us now
and if you found out would you feel different about them
i suppose they could be finding out what the people think about
every day issues .
I think the posters on the EG just wanted to have a pop at councilors or lock horns with them to appease their ego
Quite frankly i dont give a monkeys who posts as long as they
behave no one is interested in me because im a decorator so
why should we worry about some one being a councilor

I disagree Nick, I think that it would be deceptive of a counsillor to post on threads which concern their area, if they appear anon......tis one thing to be a member of the public and post anon as most do, but to be a public figure, but remaining anon and commenting on issues that affect a hell of a lot more people than are members of a forum, to me is well out of order!
