More pearls of wisdom from our manager............. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has admonished left-back Jose Enrique over his Twitter "mistake" - but insisted he wants the player to stay.
The 25-year-old, who is entering the last year of his Magpies contract, used the microblogging site to criticise the club's transfer policy, which has seen stars including Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan leave in recent times.
"Jose was wrong to put those comments up and I told him," Pardew, who has offered the player a new contract, said in comments quoted in The Sun.
"It's a good offer which we have given him and maybe the frustration of the situation got the better of him.
"I want him to stay, he's a good lad but this didn't reflect well on him. It was a mistake, he knows it and so do I."
Enrique has been linked with a possible move to Liverpool or Arsenal.
He wrote on Twitter: "The club is allowing all the major players of the team to go. Seriously, do you think it is the fault of the players? Andy [Carroll], nobby [Kevin Nolan] etc etc. This club will never again fight to be among the top six again with this policy."Sorted.........................now where's that statement for Joey Barton. Pardupe on Tuesday:
"Everybody will start making moves shortly. We do not want to miss out - but we have been trying to bring a striker in for a while, we are ahead of the game.
"We know exactly what the market is and we will pitch in when it is right."
And we know exactly when you are telling lies - your lips move.

I wonder if Pardupe still only "wants one more"? The mind boggles. From where I'm standing we need cover at LB (and probably a new LB when Jose goes.) That's 2. One on the RW who can cover for the suspect RB we have at the moment. That's 3 At least 2 top drawer strikers in addition to the sick notes we have at present. That's 5. Not half glad that two weeks summer hols beckon. Can't stand much more of this trio.

Pardupe today: "The Board know where I'm coming from. The Board know that I'm after a LB and a striker" Would they be the striker and LB you assured us would be in place prior to the Derby match? Or even those that were identified and prices known prior to the transfer window opening? Get some cred man!!!

He was also reported to have said this about NUFC's transfer activity now that Sochaux have reported The Toon to UEFA for a breach under article 18......... However, he remains hopeful that the club's strategy will eventually pay off. He said: "You need to have some sort of strategic planning about what you are doing and some sort or game plan, and hopefully we are going to call that right. "But you can get something out of the woodwork which throws it into disarray and you need Plan B and then you need Plan C. We are hoping we stick to Plan A, but we will see." CWL

It was never going to be any different CWL. Something you, I and some others have aknowledged since day one. At least Pardupe has now shown his true colours through his admittance on strategy. I never rated the man (neither as a person nor as a manager ) before he arrived at SJP and he has done nothing to endear me to him during his time here. I don't care if he is just a mouthpiece for Mashley, he is fully aware of every word he utters and in my opinion is totally spineless. Rant over

In "their speak" it means they've agreed on a "strategy" or excuses for not getting a striker in January.
