More pearls of wisdom spouted tonight from the mouth of APee........ Have a listen on the BBC iPlayer link I have posted on the transfers and rumours thread. Regret to say no transcript of the interview available so far for those of you unable to listen because you are abroad or suffer other restrictions. The one which had me LMFAO was this........................ "Success is the key to keeping our teams stars"................. Well that may be very true APee. However answer me this................ Just how do you aim to achieve success, when our most benovolent owner has a habit of selling those stars (which supporters see as essential parts of the squad) to make some money? Rather than retain them to help us achieve the success you say is so vital to keep them in the first place? Ever decreasing circles................. CWL

I think the giveaway was when he turned around at the end and the hole where Ashley's hand goes was still visible.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "We are still looking hard for a striker, and we have got our eyes on every striker who is available at the moment. But they have to be the right fit for this club. "There is a certain genre they have to fit into. And we will be striving for them to fit into that category." BLAH BLAH BLAH - Genre? Cheap cheap cheap.

It makes me laugh when Cardew speaks he seems to have a spot of dimentia, the mottley crew (allegedly)made a limp attempt at bidding for N`Zogbia on the night they cashed in on Carroll so whats changed? But the editor of the ToonTalk fanzine, Steve Wraith, claimed Carroll had contacted him before flying to Merseyside and said the England striker had been left with no option but to leave. Wraith claimed Carroll texted: 'I'm gutted to be leaving my home town club, i was told to go. I didn't want to leave that's why I signed a 5 year deal. I was pushed out of the door.' Newcastle failed in a last-gasp £12m bid to re-sign winger Charles N'Zogbia from Wigan, but did bring in midfielder Stephen Ireland on loan from Aston Villa for the rest of the season. The Frenchman had made it clear that his preferred choice was a switch to Tyneside but as the Chronicle have reported this summer Newcastle United were not prepared to pay the hefty fee set by Wigan Athletic, understood to be £9million.ATB
