"When it was clear that Liverpool might have to sell Torres, they were very quick and decisive in finding a replacement, Newcastle on the other hand, aware that other clubs were after their star man, waited till half an hour before the deadline to try and find a replacement, an impossible task." And then went after Insomnia - a player who wanted away from here only a year ago. Nothing less than an insult

Why was Carroll wanting an improved contract after just signing one around six months ago?
Do you think if he had been playing badly he would have agreed that the club could pay him less??
The lad was after more money from the start. He wasnt pushed out he was after money and who could blame him with such huge sums floating around in football.
Similarly Ashley wont ransome himself and the club to paying wages 0f 80k a week and I dont blame him after the Owen fiasco.
So Carroll chose the money END OF STORY and is now trying to shore up his reputation with the fans
Ashley continues to be a t......

WOW - were you there Foggy? I repeat Now here's a question for yers. If Lambias, Ashley and Pardew were having a mythical discussion in a mythical boardroom (supposedly considering an offer from Liverpool) prior to AC "popping his head around the door" what was there to discuss? How many ways can you say NO? the head popping is according to Pardew, and it was then Carroll was supposed to have asked for a pay rise or transfer. (Also according to Pardew). Something wrong with the order of things here Foggy

Polly - I was talking to my mackem housemate and told him I hope 'clatter'mole breaks Carroll's leg when Pool play the mackems.
Fairscup - still defending Carroll eh? I hope the last remaining ones like you get your head round that Carroll betrayed us. Most of the fans have now understood that.

I hope the last remaining ones like you get your head round that Carroll betrayed us. Most of the fans have now understood that. I'll continue to believe until I'm fully convinced he wasn't pushed. The fact is like Polly and others have stated, both here and on other forums, we will never know the whole truth. Have you spoken to most of the fans? I haven't. I've disliked plenty players in my time but I would never wish injury on any player no matter how much I detested them. I truly hope those words were said in jest. My head is just fine where it is thank you very much

I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22. In my first season in the top flight I had 15 goals by the end of Jan. Including a goal against the reigning champions, away at Arsenal and in a home win vs Liverpool. My form earned me an England call-up and debut in a friendly.......Am a I £35m striker?
No. I am Michael Ricketts, February 2002.
