I knew the minute I don't blame it all on Ashley I'd be misunderstood.
I've still not forgotten of how the FCB appointed Wise and gave him more authority than King Kev leading to King Kev's resignation, appointing Joe Kinnear, delaying the appointment of Shearer and leaving it too late to avoid relegation, no communication with the fans, pointless 5 year plans, renaming of St James Park and I almost forgot the sales of Milner and Given with the money not being put back into the team.
CM don't get me wrong I hate Ashley. And I agree with all you've said about him. But given all we know about the FCB I'm not surprised he accepted the Carroll transfer request. Now clubs should fight to keep their most prized assets and their best players but you know as well as me how our club is run. The moment there's money to cash in Ashley has his way. But in this case Carroll shouldn't have asked for a transfer request in the first place and shouldn't have signed for Liverpool.
In one of my previous posts I did say that this saga has everyone to blame in part - Ashley, Carroll and his agent.

Jeff... in all conscience, answer me this... Your happy at Warmseal. You think you get on reasonably well with your boss. And you make £18,000 a year. Next thing you know, Cumbrian-Pennine Windows want you to go and work for them, on double the money, £36,000 a year or more, AND they will give you a lovely massive one-off 'relocation' fee as well. But the thing is, your quiet happy at Warmseal, and you like the people in the area. So even then your not too fussed. Then all of a sudden, your Boss comes and reveals to you, that they too have been offered a MAHOOSIVE mahoosive load of wonga off Cumbrian-Pennine, to agree to let you go early whilst still in contract with Warmseal. And the bottom line...? Your Boss turns round and tells you, they want you to 'agree to leave'. Your Boss that you thought you got on with. Clearly telling you "we don't want you here anymore Jeff, we want Cumbrian's lovely cash for you". At that point, when you then decide you despise your boss and all he stands for, and agree to then accept the double pay rise, and nice relocation fee.... does that make you mercenary... does that make you disloyal... does it make you a low person... Or is it just you dealing with the realities of the crazy situation you just suddenly found yourself in?
So... let's just remember, and clarify...
If nothing else, the CLUB are claiming all this happened ONLY BECAUSE AC was desperate to want away at any cost.
AC however, has agreed to state on record, FOR THE RECORD, that he was DELIBERATELY ASKED BY LAMBIAS, to sign a transfer request so they could sell him.
Even if that still means he didn't HAVE to say yes (and I hope I've covered that with my story above, of how it would pan out were it you at Warmseal), then in any event, it shows that the CLUB are talking absolute BOLLOCKS yet again, and lying to the fans yet again...
Pardew saying "He didn't HAVE to do this... didn't HAVE to do that... Wasn't DRAGGED into a helicopter..."
No. But it doesn't do ANYTHING to deny that THE CLUB however, asked HIM to sign the request form.
I notice in all of this, the CLUB have said lots about what Carrolll may not have HAD to do.
But they've not done a SINGLE THING, to deny his on the record claim, that Lambias specifically asked HIM to submit the transfer request.
So, we're all just being lied to all over again by the Club and Mr Ashley
