It's difficult to know who to believe!!!! When Carroll said he was forced out, maybe he means because they wouldn't give him a new contract, giving him no choice as he wanted more money? But without doubt, the money aspect in football is ruining everything!!!

Probably like most of you today at some point I have also trawled through a massive amount of conjecture surrounding this transfer. Who do you believe? In all honesty none of them, they are all as bad as one another. Averice and greed are at the heart of this deal! Sell your soul to the devil for a silver dollar.............. Well as far as I'm concerned Andy is now the past, until he returns with the Scousers team next season, providing we are in the PL to play them. My focus is on those that remain in our extremely thin squad and getting a result in our next game against Fulham. Not exactly looking forward to sitting through this match, but the team turning out at Craven Cottage would probably not have included Carroll anyway if recent reports are to be believed. Who knows we may just get something tomorrow evening. CWL

"Andy Carroll was forced to leave" - He's the man who kissed the badge and said he loved the club....I won't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Polly hits the nail on the head. Carroll handed in a transfer request. No one forced him as no one could force him. He was on a new 5 year deal! Even Ashley couldn't force him out. The manager wanted him to stay. The other players wanted him there. The fans wanted him at NUFC. But Carroll wanted to leave. What's so hard to understand here. To all except Polly - believe what you want to but Carroll is to blame here. In the end its the fans who suffer though. Roll on Fulham... Have a good time Magpie.why dont you make a banner up ,put ASHLEY and his muppets up for sale.lol Magpie i am confused about carroll he said he was called into lambeus's office and was told to put in a transfer request as he was not wanted at newcastle.if this is true it is bad who do they think they are.at the end of the day Carrol must have been very upset to send text to chronicle for the fans etc.surly if this was untrue FATTY would have Carrol sued wouldnt he? ? This is how it happened Marlene. Ashley first turned down a 25 million bid from Spurs and then a 30 million bid from Liverpool. But remember this dragged on for some time. In the mean time Carroll was just waiting and now I've not read about it anywhere but here's whaat I think might have happened. ENTER THE AGENT! Carroll's agent sensing a big deal on the cards might have tempted Andy to go to Liverpool and at the same time called Kenny and set it up at the other end too. That's what agents do by the way. Get the best deal for their clients. They are good salesmen. Carroll's agent obviuosly was. Carroll couldn't refuse seeing his wages being tripled. But Carroll being a true Geordie goes to the board at this point and asks for a salary rise knowing that Pool were offereing him thrice as much. Here's where greed sets into our innocent Geordie boy. Ashley refuses (rightly so). Andy has no right to make blatant demands like that. No player is bigger than the team. The agent at this point is smiling. Agent is just waiting for a new deal to come to NUFC. It does. Liverpool bid 35 million. Carroll knows the only way out now is handing in a transfer request. He does. Ashley can't believe his eyes. He obvoiusly lets him go seeing a pitfall of cash on the horizon. Agent is thrilled as he'll get a slice of the transfer amount as commision. Carroll might not be so happy leaving his boyhood club but the prospect of playing European football and 80K a week is too much to resist. Att he end of the day Ashley couldn't have let Carroll go. Carroll had a contract. If my suspicison of the agent is correct Carroll could have told his agent to stuff it and that he's staying at the club he loves. If Ashley told Carroll to hand in a transfer request then Carroll could have said the same thing and showed him his 5 year contract. You see Pards wanted Carroll to stay and hence Ashley wouldn't push Carroll out. Remember Pards is Ashley's man. Ashley wont go aaginst him. So there you have it. Carroll happy, Carroll's agent happy, Ashley happy...Oh the fans aren't! But who cares about us.

You believe what you like, but knowing Pardews murky background himself being llambastics mate and the fact that the clubs "board" where found to be lying over the Keegan fiasco I find your reasoning bizarre to say the least. Pardew has admitted the "board"(Ashley)were discussing the second bid when"Andy poked his head around the door" dream on Pardew!! As if that would happen!!? Carroll is no angel by any stretch of the imagination but he was easy meat for the clowns that run that football club make no mistake. ATB

Why was Saint Pardew sacked from Southampton Magpie? by being found out? Or through being too virtuous? ATB

CM,
Yes the board were probably pushing for the move right at the end when they sensed Carroll was having doubts. No one are angels here.
But knowing how Ashley is why did Carroll even give him a chance to push the deal through? Why didn't he just go for training or whatever and keep his mose out of it? He gave Ashley a sniff and fatty didn't need to be asked twice.
Don't let your hate for Ashley cover your eyes to the truth here.
Majority of fans I know are enraged with Carroll.

There is no Board at NUFC! CM, they may be clowns in your view when it comes to running the Football Club, yet even you must admit these same clowns just made £35m in one day. They are anything but clowns when it comes to making money. CWL

Leaving us with sub standard strikers? Its sheer greed I say, the cash was too much for them to refuse. ATB

CM you are blinding yourself from the obvious.
Carroll had to make the plea after his move saying bad things about the board (and that he was forced out) as he knew some fans will fall for it. He's no angel himself. He wasn't forced out. He wanted to leave and our greedy owner simply showed him the way out.
I'm not surprised what Ashley did. I'm shocked with Carroll.

I find Pardews statement that the cash, all 35 mil of it is going to be used to buy players amusing to say the least. Coming from someone who has no say whatsoever in the running of NUFC did he negotiate the Ireland deal? A deal that has a no buy clause at the end of it? Did he push Ashley into buying Hatem Ben Arfur? No chance! He is just another front man for Ashley, another JK thats all. ATB

The only thing that is obvious is that some of us are never going to agree on this. Carroll's gone and the truth behind the happenings at SJP yesterday will never be known. Almost all that is written and stated above by all of us is either conjecture or speculation based on edited snippets from the media.
