Couple of old rumours recirculating today....... First up is that Toulouse midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, has once again been linked with Newcastle, French publication Lâ™Equipe are reporting that Newcastle are interested in taking the player in January. At only 23 and only six months left on his contract there could be a deal in the offering with Toulouse around what they may accept for the box to box midfielder. The main issue however is with him being a canny player and current French international, Newcastle will not be Sissoko's only option if he decides to leave in the transfer window. Second rumour is on the back of the Ba leaving in January saga this time with a twist. The news being Sylvain Marveaux is to be offered to French club Marseille in January to try and tempt striker Loic Remy to St James' Park with a £10m player-money bid. The way things are I would take both of them...... WL

Daily Snail has a couple of interesting snippets today..... First up, The Toon are returning to Ajax to sign Dutch Under 21 international Jody Lukoki. Having signed Vurnon Anita last summer, apparently they now want his former teammate. Dutch U21 international Jody Lukoki, can play on the wing or behind the striker, and has three goals in 14 games so far this season. It's hoped a deal can be struck for around £3.5million. Second comes the news that West Ham are keen to hijack Newcastle's move for Marseille striker Loic Remy. Slime ball and con man that calls himself an agent, Willie McKay, has apparently held talks in London with Marseille president Vincent Labrune on Tuesday evening and a proposal has been discussed that could see West Ham's Modibo Maiga go the other way. It now appears that the flying light bulb, Gabriel Obertan, is being proposed as part of negotiations to take France international Remy to Newcastle rather than Marveaux and talks will continue over the next few days. Loic Remy is still holding out for a move to Tottenham according to reports in France, despite rumours he has already agreed a move to Newcastle. Remy has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in January and looked to have moved a step closer after it was reported that Alan Pardew had agreed a £10m move to bring him to St James' Park. The talented forward has also been targeted by West Ham and QPR but French newspaper Le 10 Sport claims he is not interested in joining them and wants to join a bigger club in England - believed to be Tottenham. The north London club have been linked with Remy for the last two-years and with Andre Villas-Boas looking to provide more competition for Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor, he could make his move for the Marseille striker at the start of January. But he will have to move fast as Newcastle appear to be the number one favourites to clinch his signature as they look to find a replacement for Demba Ba who looks certain to leave the north east club.

Rumour this morning of a possible out going rather than in coming..... San Lorenzo club president Matias Lammens has confirmed that the Argentinian outfit are keen on signing Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini. "We know he is a fan and wants to return, so there could be a possibility," Lammens told Radio La Red. Coloccini has three-and-a-half years to run on his current contract at St James' Park, but Lammens is hopeful that the 30-year-old may be interested in a return to his boyhood club. The Newcastle skipper has made 168 first-team appearances for The Toon since joining from Deportivo in August 2008. WL

Lille and Newcastle United have agreed a fee in the region of £5million for Mathieu Debuchy, Sky Sports sources understand.
The France international right-back is set to join the Magpies when the transfer window re-opens next week, subject to him passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.
Sky Sports are currently reporting that representatives for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba are meeting with Chelsea this evening to thrash out a deal for the Senegal International.

I suppose the funds collected from the sale of Ba is why we can now afford Debuchy

Well depending upon which sources you read this morning the nailed on move of Ba to The Blues is not as nailed on as many may have first thought. ESPN and Sky among others both report unproductive conclusion to the talks held between Chelski and Ba's representatives. Perhaps as noted elsewhere the fact his agent wants £4m from any deal may have something to do with it stalling. Not that I would have thought with Roman's approach to player wages or spending crazy amounts of money to get what he wants for his toy it would kill the transfer. I expect the next thing on the rumour mill will be Debuchy deal in doubt...... WL

This morning has the arrival of more rumours involving potential replacements for Demba Ba..... So we have APee lining up West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie with a bid of £3m as Demba Ba’s replacement according to The Sun or Newcastle will consider a move for West Ham striker Modibo Maiga if they fail to prise Loic Remy from Marseille in Decka Lambasta*d's favourite rag the Daily Snail. Perhaps we should start a competition for which The Toon Army consider the most ridiculous or possibly the best.... WL
