Lets try another angle then, how many of you own or wear a real fur coat of any animal? Do you agree it to be fair for the animal in question to be killed in order for you to own that coat??? ----------------------- What has fur coats got to do with FISH kitten.

I've got a fur scarf, I got it in Moscow, where the Russians have a very different attitude to fur than we do! Mind, if we had their temperatures, I think we'd think differently as well. They were just putting out their Winter stock, when we were there (back end of Sept) and the fur coats were out of this world!!!! The only thing that stopped me getting one was the price!!!!! Cheaper than what they would cost here, but still dammed dear!!!

Kitt - I own a fur coat - still in my closet - worn it a couple of times. In years gone by it probably was okay and worn by many - not as a status symbol - but a means to keeping warm in the winter. (Eskimos for example)
No - I do not condone using an animal's skin for a coat - but I will keep it in her memory.

Fur trade Ive always opposed-for more than thirty years now. However I do have a Goldfish Just a bit confused about the comparison. Should I be harvesting it or something

Why do think many cities across the world have stopped killing animals for their fur?

Ann, I think you ought to know that being anti-fur, means declining to buy fur scarves.

Should I be harvesting it or something Nothing to be confused about shadow, they are both animal welfare issues. My issue is with the use of animals, at the detriment of it's health, for human whims!

was there when that shop opened and immediately called the RSPCA! Not surprisingly they have had many calls to report cruelty as this company spreads across the country.
The conditions that the fish are kept in are very different from the natural "ponds" that you get in foreign countries.
The environment is not natural to them, they are at risk of poisoning through chemicals already on the feet that are not necessarily washed off before entering the tank.
Yet another example of vanity over sanity! If you disagree with makeup products being tested on animals, is there much of a difference? Of course the fish seem to enjoy it, it is their only food source and lets face it, they have lots of rivalry within those tanks to get food!
The whole thing disgusts me greatly and I hope the RSPCA eventually have them all shut down!
What does the Animal Welfare Act do? It makes owners and keepers responsible for ensuring that the welfare needs of their animals are met. -------------------------------------------- I think this is what you posted kitten to get back to fish the R.S.P.C.A could'nt do anything ,the conditions were good how could they possibly close them down, they had no case it was ivestigated end of story, so where is the cruelty in it.

kitt, have a word with yourself. They're tiny little fish, that suffer not one jot, earning their keep by helping their owners con a bunch of thickoes.

No you are right, that is what I posted Roma, but as far as I am aware, the RSPCA are investigating these Fish Salons, as there are issues with certain aspects of the Animal Welfare Rights Act.

Why do think many cities across the world don't kill animals for fur coats anymore? Cities might not but countries do. However its always easy to take the moral high ground. Any person on here using cosmetics, hair dyes, soaps, deoderants etc and claiming they are anti this and that is a hypocrite.I include myself. Its all originally been animal tested or animal derived. Those companies telling you its not tested on animals-bollocks. If its not now it was. So ladies-and men-whose going to put an unenhanced photo on here of themselves-minus the dye, bleach, make up etc
