No I would never keep a goldfish in a bowl, I would however, and have kept goldfish in a tank where they lived very happily for many many years ;D

Roma - goldfish from the Town Moor didn't live too long in a bowl after you brought them home!
What was their natural habitat before they were placed in the bowl?

They also live happily in a bowl, just like bird's live in cages as long as they are well looked after that's all that counts. the fish in question are doing what they want to do, and that's feed.

If people want little fishies to nibble on their feet - I really don't care, one way or another. Personally I wouldn't do it - but does anyone think a fish would feed on something that would endanger its life? Patsie, do you think that it is cruel to keep fish in an environment that is not natural to them, with their only food source being the dead skin and worse on peoples feet? Fighting each other due to over crowding?

The fish that you see in shops on the slabs and in fish shops, how they die is crueler, gasping for breath it takes longer than 5mins for them to die but I bet you still go in a fish shop and by it,. and enjoy it kitten.

I think I must be talking in a different language here........? Fish as a food source is completely different to fish being used as a novelty pampering session surely? ?

Kitt, great pain and suffering should always be taken very seriously, wherever it is found. But I believe that those fish don't suffer in the slightest. I also don't believe that flies suffer in the slightest, when they are killed with newspapers.

Lets try another angle then, how many of you own or wear a real fur coat of any animal? Do you agree it to be fair for the animal in question to be killed in order for you to own that coat???

Goldfish can live for years in bowls!! I had a small tank when I lived in Wales, and I had to get a lid for it, 'cos the cat used to sit on the worktop and watch it!!!! I was convinced she'd get a paw in and scoop it out!!!! She did try to dislodge the lid, so we had to tape it on!!!!

I am saying for an over priced foot massage, it is pure cruelty to keep fish in an unatural environment purposefully exposing them to toxins and chemicals therefore endangering their lives in the name of vanity.......
