Hi Broonman - just to let you know that the Toronto Maple Leafs did win the Cup - it was in 1967 - the year I came to Canada, that's why I remember it. Don't think they've won one since then though Still support them - don't know why? Do ya follow the Blue Jays? I visited Toronto on my way to Expo in Montreal way back when. I was just a kid and we stayed with some friends in Toronto. I one thing I remember was the squirrels were black instead of gray like we have here. Never seen that anywhere else.................

We've got black ones in the UK now!! They're hoping they'll keep a handle on the grey ones!!! We've still got red ones up here though ;D (I've got a feeling I'll get wrong from CWL for posting "wildlife" in the wrong thread!!! )

Interesting, seeing how the Brits settled Toronto I wonder if they brought black squirrels over for food source or something else. Never seen any black ones in the lower 48. Blame me fer gettin off track, like CWL says I'm like a puppy pissin all about

Broon if you are watching the Flyers v Penguins game let me know the final score later on.........will probably do a Canny if I try and stay up until the end. First period was a real laugh a minute................how do you explain 72 minutes of penalties and six goals without having seen it happen. Couple of players (well I thought at least two possibly could be more) chucked out of the game as well........ CWL

Mac will have been happy bunny today as Flyers won 8 - 4 against The Penguins to take a 3 - 0 lead into the next game. Bad tempered game to say the least. Canucks need mighty comeback of all comebacks against the Kings........ and city may be on riot alert should they go out on Wednesday night. CWL

Broon that is an understatement if there ever was one..... sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/pittsburgh-penguins-vs-philadelphia-flyers-experience-violent-mayhem-173232593.htmlPittsburgh Penguins forward Craig Adams has been suspended for one game and Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma has been fined $10,000 for Adams' actions in the final five minutes of Sunday's Eastern Conference Quarterfinal playoff game against the Flyers in Philadelphia, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today. Adams instigated a fight at 15:18 of the third period. He was assessed a minor penalty for instigating, a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct. Both Adams' suspension and Bylsma's fine are automatic for violation of NHL Rule 46.12 – Instigator in Final Five Minutes of Regulation Time (or Anytime in Overtime), and as outlined by NHL Rule 46.22. The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation. I believe there are some personal hearings today although how any of those involved can possibly try and justify their actions is beyond me. The game hit a new low with this madness... Would like to know what Mac thought of it all...? For me both teams should have been thrown out of the competition. Then perhaps Hockey may get back on track rather than continue with this side show which detracts from the real game. CWL

CSN.com reporting Ashem (ex Flyer) may get the heave ho also. Last week Rangers coach called Pens dirtiest team in the league and biggest whinners when someone hits Crosby. I guess one of the pens player had a cheap hit on one of the Rangers knee. Wednesdays match would be quiet unless one team gets up on the other by 3 goals, then all hell will break loose again. Teams hate each other and Lavolette has a mean streak. What happened to the goaltending here? When Pitts goalie was in minors he played here in Wilkes-Barre, right down the road from me and I saw a few games. He was a high draft choice and destined for NHL. I guess I want Philly to take the series because I get all their games on local cable. Would love to see Rangers, Flyers match up.

I believe he's busy getting all his things in order as our place in the tables could make the Mayan prediction come true!

My point about Wednesdays game involved the Canucks not The Pens.........last time they were knocked out the fans just about destroyed the stadium then went mental outside.... Mac gone a bit quiet recently after that gem of a post...................... I wouldn't worry about the Mayans as The French Light Bulb appears to have gone out....................and been replaced by a new more effective HBA model. Could be an interesting weekend coming up with prematch training during The Gooners v Chelski game for starters, followed by main course Toon v Stoke, then small matter of further post match training with QPR v Spuds for afters......... Could be 'From Dusk Till Dawn' rerun..... CWL

CWL, are we rooting fer Gooners this weekend? I gotta work Friday nite into Saturday am, will have to stay up fer Potters match. Don't miss Overdone.............Mrs. Broon thought his name was Awe FFS after watching matches when Cannyman was here. I do remember Vancouver going a bit nuts after losing that year. I also remember the NY Rangers getting past them to win the only Cup I've ever seen them win!

Watched some of the Pitt - Philly hockey game, 10-3 Pitt. What happened to goaltending this series? Didn't see much rough stuff but didn't see whole game. First two teams in playoff history to record 45 goals in 4 playoff games. The Russian Goalies ain't doing it fer Philly! My Rangers lost in OT, series tied at 2 games apiece...............

Canucks won in LA to keep their hopes alive.......both them and Pens looking to become only fourth team ever to make come back from 3 - 0. Next game up for Pens is in Pittsburgh on Friday for game five should be an amazing match up.........it almost deserves an x rating now before it starts. Canucks have LA back in Vancouver on Sunday for their next game. NY Rangers host Senators in Big Apple on Saturday for game five. CWL
