Just for confirmation following The Capt'ns post.................... www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20120117/newcastle-sign-papiss-cisse_2281670_2580079 If The Toon can sort out a central defender and another full back without anyone leaving I will be one satisfied Mag. Somehow I just know it will probably not turn out that way though! Interesting to see how it does pan out in next few weeks. CWL  |

I hate to say this , but I'm with Broon..........this is deja vu...........look out for the last days of January sales............sorry....Kinda smells of the fatman already having an agreement to sell Tiote, Colo or Krul to pay for this guy........Anyway doesnt Demba Ba deserve the number 9 shirt?(or maybe its him who's off)

To a degree our most benevolent owner has done that with this signing. Whether anymore are brought in remains to be seen and we all know money talks. So should a huge offer come in for any of our better players a deal will be considered. That said other Clubs will be cautious about how much they do pay as none of them will want to be stung as Liverpool were with Andy Carroll. Mikey can also afford to bide his time when it comes to selling and doesn't need to cash in now. Ba and Tiote could be worth even more after the ACN than they are at the moment should either or both of them do well in the competition. Krul also doesn't need to do much to force a move and probably would be better off waiting until the summer after the Euro's when again if he shines it will push up his worth. An offer may come in for Colo however with the potential of European football to strengthen his contract negotiations not sure a January move is to his advantage. Let's just wait and see................. By the way Ba declined the number nine when it was offered to him. CWL  |

No, Ashley doesn't need the money, but he'll sure as hell want it!  If he sold any of the ones mentioned for say, 15/20 mill, that's a nice profit for him, and that is always his motivation - profit!!
Did anyone see him at the QPR match? Has he lost weight or was it my imagination??

CWL I do believe some of the players have wanted ambition to be shown by the club perhaps with the club in a better financial condition this signing is showing that, but........ Just being the devils advocate, and putting it out there........remember last winter window......buy early ......sell on the last day...........gotta balance the books......Fatman will not , repeat not spend any money without a recoup somewhere.
I , too look at the team and see tremendous potential..........just hope I can still see it when the window closes.
I hope to fluff I am wrong........

Just one more thing........the Capn says he looks like Andy Cole...................I looked at as many videos as I could of him.............this guy even smells like Andy Cole!
If we retain Ba ...these two are gonna terrorise PL defences, as they play differently, different styles...........even less pressure on our defence and midfield as opposing teams wont push up on us.
