Back home now and just about defrosted But what a good turn out and great support from the public Special thanks to the man offering cups of hot coffee and the Fireman who donated his hat to help keep the youngest warm Wonderful feeling of comraderie amongst the marchers and a real sense of a united purpose.Cameron might be refer to it as a damp squib but hes totally missed the point-over 8,000 people got off their arses to show how they felt-not just the striking workers but pensioners, kids you name it they were there and I was proud to be there too. Bansh-wonder if your feet are aching as much as mine lol. Kids are now tired but happy to have finally been able to express how they feel at the future we are making for them by idly sitting by and doing nothing-they are already talking about the next time.

Glad to have been a part of it. And if we can reclaim the phrase "all in it together" there was very much a feeling of people from all walks of life coming together, for a cause they feel strongly about. Interesting to hear the Government version of events, when they say that there was no public support for the strike. Apart from the thousands that took part, there were people lining the streets and clapping & cheering as we went by. There was definetly support. Then on the bus on my own, on the way home (I still had my banner with me) people were talking to me and saying how they supported the strike & the march. It doesnt just end here though. The fight goes on.

Yes-that was something that really touched me Bansh-the amount of people clapping as we went through Gateshead and the Quayside-we got alot of interest on the bus home also and all of it was positive

That lady singing "Power to the people" had me peeing myself. Me I'm with Clarkson on this one, (although not so extreme as he).
