Is this the "reality" of the Government telling us that "Of course things are going to be difficult, nobody denies that but..............blah, blah, blah".

Well the date is set. I am still striking. Tensions high at work whenever it is mentioned. I bite my tongue all the time, as there has been an agreement not to discuss it as it is causing trouble. But there are still mutterings mainly from the non-strikers slagging the rest of us off. Some idiots have even tried booking leave for the 30th. Luckily that has not been allowed. I cant beleive that some people were actually prepared to let people think they were taking part, but really on a days leave so they wouldnt lose any money. Pathetic and very sad.

C'mon people.
Join together and show you are not prepared to put up with this sh*t.
Get out on the streets and make your voice heard.
Tell Obama - Sarkozy - Merckl - Berlesconni -IMF - World Bank and especially Cameron to fu** off.
Tell them you are not prepared to be economic slaves to the 1% and the "Banksters" who are protected by governments - who were elected by them.
It is your country your future and you want it back.
Peace - love - harmony.

Take the stand people- and walk the walk, 'cos believe me this is YOUR DAY.
Do it now - or else - forever hold your peace for another generation.
If you don't stand now how will you face your children and grand-children when they asked you:
"What did you do to stop it?"
Peace.

I was talking about this today with Mr Shads. And interestingly enough people at his work have also booked the day off as A/L.There is also talk of people walking out alternatively for one hour-not sure what this will achieve myself since the place will still be covered and cause no hardship to the employers-seems a very token gesture to me.His observations are that people are genuinely afraid of losing their jobs should they join the action-altho of course they cant be sacked ,when staffing levels get cut-which it is being done left right and centre-the worry is that they will be the first to go.I wonder how aware people are of what is being done behind the scenes because there is some scary stuff happening. The reduction in staffing levels within the public sector workers is putting pressure on those remaining to pick up the slack at an intolerable level and I know people working in essential services are extremely concerned about what could potentially happen.
I'll be there because this isnt just about pensions anymore.

The same at my work, Shads. Having just been told 2 weeks ago, the plan for job cuts, people are also thinking that they dont want to look bad by striking. I can kind of understand that, I am also worried about looking bad if I strike, but then I am still looking at the bigger picture. I am still striking anyway and will be there on 30th. People shouldnt be scared to exercise their legal right to strike, protest, express their views. People need to make a stand. So that is Me, Shads & Mr Shads..... anyone else?

:)G'Day
It's a great boost to see the support for the movement against the 1%.
To change the minds of those who are against the demonstrations, it is necessary to illustrate the effects of NOT demonstrating, in one way or another.
I agree that some people are afraid the will lose ONE DAY'S pay.
It has come to the position whereby, it is either they lose one day's pay - or LOSE A LIFETIME OF SLAVERY BY THEIR CHILDREN TO THE 1% - who own governments - OR TAKE THE STAND.
Please ask those sceptics if they are prepared to pledge their childrens lives to that?
Let's not forget that after the BAIL-OUTS of the financial system:
EVERYTHING - AND I MEAN - EVERYTING BELONGS TO - US.
THE 99%
YES - - - US.
Remind your government representative and press that this is the case.
Forget that the Corporate world are spending £billions to refute this fact.
It's a con.
YOU - WE - OWN THE WORLD AND EVERYTHING ON IT - AND - THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM - NOT THEM.
Do what is necessary - STAND AGAINST THE 1%.
Peace.

Ok-I think we are set for tomorrow. One point to make is that some people will have to cross the picket lines because certain patients and clients require 24 hour care and I know the Unions have given them special permission to do so-I do understand-been in the same position myself-hope the people picketing realise that too
