This weekends Premier League fixture away sets up what could be considered as another Old Boys reunion at Aston Villa. Following an at times backs to the wall defensive display against QPR on Monday night. The Magpies and Toon Army now travel to the West Midlands looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season and pick up more points on the road. Villa away has not delivered much joy in recent seasons with our last four fixtures all ending in defeat. The most recent both ending 1 - 0, on our return to the Premier League last time out and before that in our final game of the relegation season. Despite picking up a good point at Loftus Road our goal threat is meagre to say the least................ APee could decide to change it around by possibly bringing in some young blood or go with a single target man and five man midfield or will he stick with his preferred 4 4 2? We may even see Davide Santon makes his first team debut in a new defence set up following his run out earlier this week in the reserves. With all that to look foward too will the unbeaten run come to a grinding halt or will The Lads park the bus and confound the critics again with a scoreless draw or do the unlikely by nicking a win? What do you think? CWL

Looks as though from reports this morning Santon will now under go keyhole surgery on his knee and is expected to be out about a month................better make it two then given our medical team! Not good timing, if there ever is such a thing with injuries, considering our squad size and the quality it contains.............. No matter how highly rated as a footballer this kid is his injury record is equally the opposite. Another of the Fat Mans gambles not quite going to plan............. CWL

I feel for the lad and hope it all goes well for him. You have to wonder though, Who did the research and who performed the medical he supposedly passed last week? Is this another example of Mashley's due dilligence?

According to some reports this latest set back is not connected to his previous troubles................... Find that a bit strange myself as would have thought if you have a dodgy knee, then you have a dodgy knee! Regardless of how you end up injured it still means you are unable to play. That said I have to acknowledge that injuries which ended careers in the past are not considered as such now. That may well explain why he completed his transfer medical without any concerns. Still makes me wonder why we bought him outright though rather than take him on loan with an option to sign at the end of it? Then again what do I know about transfers compared to Lambsarse? CWL

Plenty of possession but struggling to make a clear cut chance for our front men........................unable to call them strikers! Hopefully we can still get something from this game............. heads haven't dropped. CWL
