CONGRATULATIONS SUPERMAC!.......A worthy winner....very eloquent too! Thanks...also, I appreciate the use of "eloquent" instead of "verbose" or "long-winded" Congrats to Madam, Fairsy, and Canny all for eclipsing the century mark...100-point seasons, not too shabby...look forward to it again next year, in whatever incarnation our picks league takes... ...and hopefully a lot more points to be earned for correctly predicting Newcastle victories...

Having now posted the above it only leaves me to clarify the bonus situation following yesterdays result. Although it went down to the last game in somewhat typical Newcastle fashion no one ended up receiving a reward, including those lucky enough to be in with a shout of sharing Mikey's Million offer had they won. The final outcome a total of eight points gained and 16th place in the League. Which probably only goes to prove what an almost thankless task it is actually trying to predict anything involving The Toon. So the league table for 2012/13 finally ends like this... TFMKAMTHF 133 Supermac 106 Ann 101 Fairsy 101 Canny 100 WL 89 WofT 83 Natt 80 Broon 77 Jazz 76 Polly 76 Capt M 73 Marlene 64 Leazes 61 Half and Alves 0 On that basis it only leaves me to round up... The former member won on points but IMO achieved little else. Runner up The Mac that is Super from across the pond earns much Kudos and the title of Sir throughout next season as he is an active, participating member of the Forum. Ann1 and The Norseman can take pride in challenging the Mac for a shot at being called Sir (although not sure if Ann1 will see the funny side of that, unless she fancies being called Madam, which when you think about it could be considered even funnier or is it just my sick sense of humour? Who cares!). Beneath them both comes the C Man which again is another scary thought! Then there's a thirteen point spread between those in mid table down to Polly. All who fought the good fight however also came up short (any suggestion this is another less than subtle reference to the C Man is vehemently denied). The Capt'n tried valiantly to hold on to Polly's shirt tail, but ultimately failed while Marlene and The Scourge of The Desert must try harder. Leazes demise from Alpha Dog to Slum Dog almost a parallel of Newcastle's season as a whole. Although I guess the wooden spoon may be worn as a badge of honour! So that's it from me with my personal appreciation to you all for taking part and I look forward to doing it all again next season...although possibly in a different format. Lights Oot! Disqualify the Imposter....Crown the Rightful King Supermac.....enough of this cautious diplomatic bullshit.......lets take a vote...............grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

In typical Renegades fashion , a vote was taken regarding Magpie's absence from the forum. And I am glad to say that in true Magpie fashion the result was close .....but here it is. Those wishing him to be acknowledged as the winner..........51,999.............Those wishing him to be ignored and removed from the prediction league..........52,000..............very similar to many of his intelligence insulting predictions during this sad season. Magpie, I know you still read this forum avidly, looking for acknowledgement and gratification and acceptance..............but dont waste your time. It aint gonna happen........I think theyre starting a WUM forum next season....you will get recognition there......

;D ;D ;D Well known WUMs such as Cushing, Polish Nick, Mad Pete, Fatma and the Makem who put a bid in for NUFC (can't remeber his name) have all applied for membership to the new forum. All of the above mentioned are of course in a different class to the carpet bomber so any recognition ought to be of the disdain variety BTW - I'm wondering what Lights oot is "hatching" for next season's prediction league.

Okay folks here is the news you have all been waiting for..... Slight variation this season in the format of the Predictions League. This time instead of all points being derived from a single Newcastle fixture there will be four further games scorelines to predict, with points awarded as follows... Points and Scoring Correct Result (Final Score) 3 pts = Fully correct score i.e. correct outcome, exact scoreline which implies correct GD 2 pts = Correct outcome, not the exact scoreline but the correct GD (i.e actual scoreline 2 - 1, prediction 3 - 2, GD +1) 1 pt = Correct outcome (Newcastle Fixture Only i.e a win, draw, loss) 3 pts = 1st Newcastle Goal Scorer in Newcastle Fixture Only Prediction Submission Deadline All predictions must be submitted no later than Friday 12 midnight (UK Local Time). For example: Arsenal v Villa, Mackems v Fulham, Birmingham v Brighton, Boro v Blackpool, Citeh v Toon Simply cut n paste fixtures from my post each week on the League thread then post as below with your respective scorelines and Toon scorer... Arsenal v Villa = 3 - 1 Mackems v Fulham = 1 - 1 Birmingham v Brighton = 2 - 1 Boro v Blackpool = 2 - 0 Citeh v Toon = 2 - 1 Cisse for the Toon Any difficulty drop me a PM or shout up on the HWGA Predictions League thread. Lights Oot!

Whoever is correct will gain a bonus score of 10 awarded for the league position and a further 5 should the points total also be accurate. The deadline for submission is Friday 12 midnight UK Local Time so don't be late or you will miss out on gaining points. Any difficulty drop me a PM or post something on here. Lights Oot!
