And so it is...our last prediction of the season.
It looks a mighty task to overcome the 27 points separating me from TFMKAMTHF, but, much unlike our fearful leader, this is no time to park the bus...might as well go for the win, right? I don't think there are enough points to earn by getting the result, spread, score, first scorer, and Toon Scorers all correct, which means I need goals and lots of them...even so, a two-pronged attack is required.
Prong 1) Final Run-in Bonus Points: For this, I'll need a Newcastle win coupled with a West Ham win or draw vs Reading, and ties or losses by Norwich at Man City and Stoke at Southampton...there are other scenarios, sure, but that seems the most likely.
That could bring the deficit to 17 points, which, like I said, means I need goals, so, here's to hoping:
Prong 2) Prediction:
Newcastle United Football Club 85-84 Arsenal
1st Goal: Walcott Toon Scorers: Cissé (3), Tioté (3), Gutiérrez (2), Gouffran (3), Ben Arfa (3), Cabaye (3), Debuchy (2), Yanga-Mbiwa (2), Williamson (2), Coloccini (2), Harper, Simpson (2), Anita (2), Perch (2), Marveaux (3), Obertan, Campbell (2), Santon (2), Haidara, Bigirimana, Gosling, Samaeobi, Saylor (2), Szczesny O.G. (3), Sagna O.G. (2), Mertesacker O.G. (3), Koscielny O.G. (3), Gibbs O.G. (3), Rosicky O.G. (2), Walcott O.G. (2), Ramsey O.G. (2), Santi Cazorla O.G. (2), Podolski O.G. (2), Fabianski O.G. (2), Vermaelen O.G. (2), Monreal O.G. (2), Jenkinson O.G. (2), Wilkshere O.G (2), Oxlade-Chamberlain O.G (2), Gervinho O.G. (3)
Cissé Offsides: 4
Now, I fully realize that substitution laws of the game will prevent all of these folks from scoring...I'm really anticipating a more realistic scoreline along the lines of 23-22...but I need to make sure I'm covered...
Plus, this wouldn't be the predictions league if some of us didn't artificially inflate our predicted scoreline in an effort to get credit for a more diverse range of goal scorers! AMIRITE?!?!
WE'RE NEWCASTLE UNITED AND WE PARK THE BUS FOR NO ONE!!!!!!!!

As it's end of the season and the only thing to play for is pride I'm going for a major upset....even though the stats and just about everything else points to another defeat. Toon 2 - 1 Gooners 1st GS: Walcott Toon Scorers: Cisse (if he can stay onside) and Gouffran Stevie Harper to play a blinder in his last competitive game for The Toon and almost single handed keep the visiting Goons at bay. Thereby denying Arsene Whinger a Champions League place and have him explain to disgruntled supporters how their most bitter rivals managed to overtake them on the final day. Over to you now Football Gods to make it a reality.... For those yet to post a prediction you have until a 2pm (UK Local time) Sunday 19th May deadline in which to do so. Anything after that will not count towards earning points from this fixture. Lights Oot!

Having now posted the above it only leaves me to clarify the bonus situation following yesterdays result. Although it went down to the last game in somewhat typical Newcastle fashion no one ended up receiving a reward, including those lucky enough to be in with a shout of sharing Mikey's Million offer had they won. The final outcome a total of eight points gained and 16th place in the League. Which probably only goes to prove what an almost thankless task it is actually trying to predict anything involving The Toon. So the league table for 2012/13 finally ends like this... TFMKAMTHF 133 Supermac 106 Ann 101 Fairsy 101 Canny 100 WL 89 WofT 83 Natt 80 Broon 77 Jazz 76 Polly 76 Capt M 73 Marlene 64 Leazes 61 Half and Alves 0 On that basis it only leaves me to round up... The former member won on points but IMO achieved little else. Runner up The Mac that is Super from across the pond earns much Kudos and the title of Sir throughout next season as he is an active, participating member of the Forum. Ann1 and The Norseman can take pride in challenging the Mac for a shot at being called Sir (although not sure if Ann1 will see the funny side of that, unless she fancies being called Madam, which when you think about it could be considered even funnier or is it just my sick sense of humour? Who cares!). Beneath them both comes the C Man which again is another scary thought! Then there's a thirteen point spread between those in mid table down to Polly. All who fought the good fight however also came up short (any suggestion this is another less than subtle reference to the C Man is vehemently denied). The Capt'n tried valiantly to hold on to Polly's shirt tail, but ultimately failed while Marlene and The Scourge of The Desert must try harder. Leazes demise from Alpha Dog to Slum Dog almost a parallel of Newcastle's season as a whole. Although I guess the wooden spoon may be worn as a badge of honour! So that's it from me with my personal appreciation to you all for taking part and I look forward to doing it all again next season...although possibly in a different format. Lights Oot!
