I just read this thread. there is a lot of humour around, but it set me thinking, AIDS, was that man made. I always wondered if it was invented to stop the immune system rejecting hearts in the early days? maybe I am way off target but its good to start a rumour, they say that aids is a mutation from a monkey disease, and heart transplant research was going on at a pace in South Africa with Dr Christian Barnard at that aproximate time, now as I say it is just a thought and I am not known to make good judgement, when I first heard the Beetles I said to myself, they will we working on the bin round next week!

AIDS did indeed come from a lab, rats have HIV but it does not harm them or turn into AIDS, some scientists would have thought wonder what will happen if we inject a human with it and the rest is history.

Thats a major issue with biological testing Although we are all mammals our physiology means that one drug that works on one mammal wont necessarily work on another. Penicillin can be toxic to guinea pigs,a drug that might work on a cat might not work on a dog...... And sometimes we have these funny viruses appearing

From cucumber to AIDS WTF. A tenuous off topic link. I'm not sure (as no one is) that it's conception began in a lab. This is the propaganda from the anti vivisection/animal rights moronic terrorist. If indeed it was proven that AIDS came from a lab conducting animal medical testing. The people who have died of AIDS, is only a drop in the ocean considering all the lives that have been saved throughout the years. I have no problem using animals for medical research, for cosmetic research is a different matter. Maybe we should put a condom on a cucumber before we eat it.
