If Enrique is sold what will it mean to the fans? Will it prove that Ashley is a supporter, or a carpetbagger? If he is sold Ashley would have pocketed a cool 50 mil. It would show he is not investing in the club to enhance its position, it would show once and for all that he is investing for personal gain, using the club as if it were a bloody shop, buying cheap and selling big. CWL There are a few threads on this site where I could say the same. Plus, this has nothing at all to do about what happened today!! youtu.be/IX0l5rpYyGc

Oh, wonderful!!!! Why not sell everyone and have done!!! Cap is right, he's only interested in money and making a profit He couldn't care less about the club, or the hopes of the fans, so long as he makes a buck or two out of us!!!!!!

Fairsy, although I agree with Capt M that many threads on here are the same and probably have no relevance, this is one example where I honestly just don't see the point............... No matter what Thompson has said it's still pure speculation until Jose actually signs for them on the dotted line. As for what it means regarding The Fat Controller well we all have a pretty good idea by now about that, so what's new? CWL

Not sure how they can do that as he has a contract with NUFC until 2012.................... Even if Ashley sanctioned it should word get out other clubs would surely be up in arms about it as the transfer window is closed. Also in believing Jose is now effectively a Liverpool player then I surmise you also believe Barton will not be signing a new contract anytime soon and will be looking for a deal elsewhere to meet his aspirations. After all Jose staying was one of his conditions put forward to our most benevolent owner regarding showing his ambition for NUFC. For me it's just another issue put on the back burner until he either eventually goes or signs to stay. Not a lot I can do about it either way! CWL

CWL If Jose staying is one of Barton's conditions for staying then yes I'd probably have to accept that he could be off. These lads are, however easily swayed, and principles sometimes go out of the window when £££££ signs light up. As you say we can't do a lot about it one way or the other.

If it does and there is no big money spent on good signings I feel a real riot is on the cards outside St. James! This talk of "team spirit" and "we're all in this together" (I've heard that somewhere else!) is looking a bit thin! Time ripe for a buyer for the black & whites?!
