Just wondered what anyone thought of todays Budget.............? Not had a chance personally to weigh up pros and cons, but will get around to it eventually. Other views welcome. CWL

Now had a chance to look at what Mr Osbourne's offerings will mean for me and all things considered don't appear too bad. Fuel prices expected to come down so hopefully that will mean less outlay to get around. Tax wise probably not much of a difference as the the added allowance mentioned yesterday doesn't come into affect until 2012. That said I could be slightly better off come this April although expect any amount gained to be swallowed up by increases elsewhere. No change for me, but smokers get clobbered again. Drinkers can breathe sigh of relief as no change there as far as I can make out. Can still afford a pint thank God! The charities I support should be no worse off as grant aid changes make it easier for them to receive small and specific donations. How things actually pan out will depend a lot on whether his other measures to control inflation and stimulate the economy are successful. All in all he pretty much did what the Government said they would do although with one or two last minute differences in some areas I believe. May take a few months before a more realistic picture develops, but so far personally I'm relieved as I reckon it could have been a lot worse. CWL

Personally not much difference.
Can't see it making a dint I the record number of unemployed, although it makes good sound bits.

TBH, I think it's "as you were" - apart from the tabs I usually watch it, but yesterday I forgot about it, and was doing a spot of gardening. but from what little I've seen, I don't think it will do sod all for employment!! I don't think the cuts will really start to bite until April!!! Then watch the fur fly!!!

Being honest Ive been that busy the last couple of days its barely registered. A friend did send a message that although petrol had gone down by a penny a litre the Vat increase would actually mean that this would mean us still paying more if that makes any sense

Had to laugh at some reports today about garages putting up the price of petrol by 1p ahead of the budget-so that after they could make the 1p reduction. I often wonder about how stupid the British public is perceived to be by these companies. And yet.......do we protest? Do we heck
