anyone here done this, i hear you have to have a conversion kit fitted but at about £630 quid supplied or £1300 fitted i think it's a tad expensive, i think if you do a lot of miles it may be worth it.

Saw those leccie cars on the local news this evening. They only go 110 miles on a charge!! So really you can only go 55 miles if your coming back!! And they reckon a full charge takes a few hours So it would take me a couple of days to go and see my daughter in Wales!!! I can get to Canada in 7 hours!!!! And they're 26,000 quid!!!!

No chance-Im worried enough about what next months MOT is gonna cost me.Know for a fact Ive got leaks on the exhaust both sides of the catalytic converter-they bodged it with putty last time but this year I doubt if they'll do the same. £1300?

Must point out this only applies to diesel cars! I've heard you can get the conversion for around £500 and it will run on used chip shop oil.

What they will do is make charging it up more expensive!!! Once they take off - if they do, they'll have to come down in price first! - then the leccie will go the way of petrol, taxed to hell!!! By the time they come down in price and go further, I'll be too soddin' old to drive!!!

If my leccie bills owt to go by I'd be doing a hell of alot of walking I cant even begin to comprehend paying £26,000 pounds for a car This one I'm driving nows the most expensive Ive had bar a fiat 126 I got talked into buying on HP years back-horrible little thing and I felt a total prat in it-£3,000 over three years and I gave it back after a year. I splashed out on the Primera and paid £750 for it Ive had cars for thirty to fifty quid before that. The chip pan oil was sounding ok-but like any other oil the price of a litre is rising pretty fast too

Shads - you must look into buying a Honda. I bought one brand new when I was working, in 1990. It was a Civic Hatchback. Never had a problem with it starting, etc. - went through snowbanks like you wouldn't believe. It lasted for 20 years, and it loved it, but the gas tank was gone and the repairs would have been really expensive. Had to replace it (with a Honda FIT) and I hate the thing.
If you can get an older Honda (my son has a 2003 Accord - no probs) - go for it.
