Capt M, I can understand your dislike of Pardew based upon what you have stated. The thing is the appointment was made by The Fat Controller for his reasons and not those of anyone else, least of all Newcastle supporters. As for there being any truth in the statements made either by Pardew or from the Club itself that is also down to personal belief. At times I believe there is an element of truth in what is said or published. However it is often shrouded in so much other stuff there's always an element of doubt that remains in the back of my mind. That's simply because of Ashley and Lambarses past record when it comes to failed PR and outright lies. As for Pardews private life and his chasing other mens wives. Well I don't think for one minute he is the only one up to such behaviour and probably has very little to do with him being involved in Football, although it obviously helps. Does that make him a liar, well it certainly points towards him being deceitful (is he married?), but unlike Ashley who admitted as much in a court of law, I'm not as sure as yourself. I'll just stick with the football side of things and judge him on that until he does something to make me change my view. CWL

Carver is an excellent coach but if we can all point the finger at the manager when things go wrong on the pitch, then lets all be fair and give him his credit when things go right. As far as I know it wasn't Carver who gave that inspirational half time team talk against Arsenal! Pardew is a good manager and I said it from day one. Under him we are playing good passing football. Granted Hughton left him with a good squad but he has carried on and is actually improving our style of play. I will never forget what Chris Hughton did for us. But Pardew is the manager now and I will back him a 100%. So you are willing to forgo your scruples and give Pardew the benefit of any doubt whatsoever and at the same time call Carroll a traitor by believing that Pardew told the truth? ATB

CWL I cannot help being suspicious of him, I do not trust him in any way, he is right in Ashley`s pocket. All I can see is that NUFC are just another of Ashley`s shops... A supermarket of footballers. I hope im wrong but.... ATB

ATB I didn't fully understand your question. Pardew had nothing to do with Carroll's departure. It was down Carroll, Ashley and Carroll's agent. They are the villians in the picture. Pardew has been honest with the fans and he comes across as that to me. He's just doing the best he can. He took a big step coming up North in his career after advice from Sir Alex Ferguson. He's always been a London manager but he's adapting well to life at Newcastle. He has my full support.

Anyway, I happen to work with four Brummie supporters, three Wolves supporters and a West Brom fan so I have enjoyed a bit of leg pulling this week! ;D ATB

But then again Formula one is a different sport than football and you can't generalize and apply the fundamentals from one to the other.

Forget the other question as I think you may be less than 25? ATB Actually you can assess one against the other. Take for instance a driver who is driving in formula 2, what would you think his ambition would be? What would he aspire to? If it were to be an F1 driver would he want to drive for a team at the back of the grid or would he want to drive for Red Bull, Ferrari, or maybe McLaren? What would you do if someone offered you a drive in a top grid car?

Does it matter how old he is? I think it does help if you have over the years gained experience in dealing with people that run businesses. The younger you are you have all that in front of you, not behind you. ATB
