Local pride...You should know that better than me CWL. Magpie !! don't you know,if you want to keep your best player, you don't put your helicopter at his disposal, sheeesh, what's it like being a rocket scientist Magpie??? Of course Carroll wasn't going to take the bus to Liverpool was he? And your point is irrelevant. How does it matter whether Ashley gave Carroll his heli to fly out of the toon or not. What matters is Carroll wanted to go most importantly and Ashley made no effort to stop it happen. I'm not surprised at Ashley's behavior. Are you? He's been taking the p**s ever since he came here. I'm surprised by Andy Carroll - supposedly a "local lad". Where was his pride? For goodness sakes he had the NO 9. What more did he want? Well now we know...Money obviously. Ashley's not the only greedy b*****d. Food for thought...

Magpie I fully understand the points you make yet here is some more food for thought...................You don't stay where you are not wanted! Unless of course you actually believe the statements put out by Wor Mikey and company regarding the Carroll transfer? Personally I think they are two sides of the same coin. One has gone and supporters need to accept it for what it is.............part and parcel of the game. Meantime Newcastle supporters continue to wait for the other to take the money and bugger off back where he came from! CWL

MM no one expects you to agree with Magpie, however he is entitled to his opinion. Whether it's valid or not is the whole point of the debate, but calling him names just belittles you and your opinion in my view which is a shame. CWL

CWL my point cwl is ,seeing as you're putting your twopennorth in is,who is he to say what's relevant or not,I mean howay,it's well documented the Liverpool owner told the press, talks on the Carrol deaL had been going on 5 days before the bombshell dropped,of course Magpie would turn his nose up at a very huge pay rise, him being a good and loyal servant to the firm, don't make me laugh.

All a question of who you believe....................... Lets face it Liverpool were also selling Torres to Chelski so anything they had to say was simply to deflect away from that little matter. My moan over the whole Carroll transfer was not that Newcastle sold him for £35m, but that the Club didn't have a replacement lined up ready to come in. No surprise there considering our benevolent owner and his planning capabilities. Which from his gambling reputation often depends upon the turn of a card or spin of a wheel. The purpose, as you put it of putting my two pence worth in, was simply to say calling Magpie a dolt did you no good in my eyes, end of! Once the name calling started you lost the argument as the basis for any further discussion has gone. Whether or not you agree with me is another thing entirely. CWL

I did say 'May'............... That aside I believe Pardew now has the side playing a different game to that of Chris Hughton. Certainly from what I have seen since Christmas we are trying to play the ball on the ground a lot more. With a pass and move approach rather than just launching it up front for the big man to get his head on it and hope something would happen. Obviously others may see it differently, but for me I'm actually enjoying what the lads are attempting to do under this manager. CWL I think J.Carver may have some input. My thoughts exactly Markie! It would be interesting to put together the timing of his arrival and Carrolls departure taking into consideration Pardews tenure of course. I get the feeling that Carver has had a major input/influence into the way the team are playing of late. ATB

I've noticed that during against both Blackburn and Birmingham Harper was as, if not more active than Pardew on the touchline. Pardupe, I assume has the final say but there was an awful lot of input and touch line coaching coming from his right hand man. I saw both games in their entirety on TV and the Norwegian commentators even discussed the matter.

Carver is an excellent coach but if we can all point the finger at the manager when things go wrong on the pitch, then lets all be fair and give him his credit when things go right.
As far as I know it wasn't Carver who gave that inspirational half time team talk against Arsenal!
Pardew is a good manager and I said it from day one. Under him we are playing good passing football. Granted Hughton left him with a good squad but he has carried on and is actually improving our style of play. I will never forget what Chris Hughton did for us. But Pardew is the manager now and I will back him a 100%.

I do agree it is harsh to just call it coincidence and ignore the fact following the return of John Carver there's been such a turn around of both fortune on the pitch and style of play at SJP. Despite Pardew not being universally accepted by supporters he still did play a large part in bringing him back so again credit where it is due. CWL

Aye Carver, I only had two incorrect letters. It's now up to Pardew to use some of the Carroll millions in making CARVER a permanent appointment.

CWL If you look at Pardew purely on ability to Manage the team I really do not have an issue at all. But this man has a dark side that`s virtually black. Pardews connections to the owners sidekick is one, how and why did he get the job when he did? The other concerns his inability to keep his eyes and hands off other peoples wives. So the guy can make statements till he`s blue in the face I cannot for the life of me believe he is capable of telling the truth. ATB

I know what you mean CM. i will just wait and see. One minute he is saying that Ashley has told him he will get the 35 mil to spend! In the next breath, "if the price is right, he cannot guarantee players will not be sold"!? ATB
