Forget Best, Ranger, Shola and Kuqi, Lovenkrands will fill the Carroll void... Magpie if you believe that you will believe anything.................sorry mate just not going to happen. Don't get me wrong I'm pleased for Lover he has scored tonight, however he is not going to cause the same number of problems as Carroll to the opposition. CWL +1 Never will any of the above mentioned players fill Carroll's boots. Two decent goals from the two of them but otherwise totally inneffective.

Best won a few headers against Johnson yesterday, that is well done if you ask me. Best seems to be a bit lazy and disinterested at times though.
I think Løvenkrands is improving and he offers something our other strikers don't have, which is the ability to spot the gaps to run through in the defence. He is easily outmuscled on the ball but he always gives an option with his clever runs.
Not a very spectacular win but a win is a win and we need all the three pointers we can get. After that early goal Birmingham did put up a high pressure which made it hard for us to hold the very long.
Jónas was MoM for me, getting two assists and managed to do everything right in this game, it was a solid alround team performence though where everyone did a good game.

Got a bit ahead of myself when I wrote that.................should have checked the table first. Not to worry though as with two very winnable home games coming up it may not matter. CWL

Bit OTT with the traitor statement don't you think? Carroll is a professional footballer they go were the money is and has nothing to do with anything else. CWL Local pride...You should know that better than me CWL. Magpie !! don't you know,if you want to keep your best player, you don't put your helicopter at his disposal, sheeesh, what's it like being a rocket scientist Magpie???

Aren't those the ones we usually screw up? I did say 'May'............... That aside I believe Pardew now has the side playing a different game to that of Chris Hughton. Certainly from what I have seen since Christmas we are trying to play the ball on the ground a lot more. With a pass and move approach rather than just launching it up front for the big man to get his head on it and hope something would happen. Obviously others may see it differently, but for me I'm actually enjoying what the lads are attempting to do under this manager. CWL
