I had to laugh this morning-whilst I was tidying up I caught a bit of This Morning and they had a "dream expert" on who was trying to explain why people have-well I suppose you'd call em sexy dreams- about people you shouldnt-like your boss for example. She must have given every explanation possible ranging from wanting to be them ,wanting to reclaim your power, relationship in crisis, stuck in a rut and actually finding the person attractive. Basically a total waste of time explaining as it could mean virtually anything

Aye, I've never heard anyone giving a satisfactory explanation of some dreams...some are obvious, even when they're all mixed up....like tossing ingredients into a bowl and see what happens, kind of thing! However, some dreams are just absolutely crazy and there's no rhyme or reason to them? Since starting this thread I always look forward to having dreams so I can write them down. Trouble is you never know when they're coming along....like the buses....none for ages and then two together!

My latest dream. Here goes, its again, a strange mixture, as dreams seem to be! It seems to be set in the 1950's or earlier. I am walking down to Howdon railway station on a dark, wet morning, about 6am....I haven't got a coat on so am getting soaked with heavy drizzle. As I get near the station, I see the train pull out and so, obviously I've missed it. I want to get somewhere on time so start to worry. Another train approaches so I race forward and manage to get on the last carriage which is a small one with about four men in it, obviously going to work. One of them is reading aloud from his newspaper in a dull, boring voice. I think "I don't want to do this journey day after day". The next thing, after getting off the train at North Shields is that I'm suddenly involved in the re-burying of Edward V111 (the one that married Wallis Simpson). We have to put the coffin, of a light varnished wood into a sort of underground vault of some size. We lower the coffin from above, and there is some confusion as to which way up it should be. The light is turned on in the vault and on sealing it, I think "Whats the point of the light being on?" End of dream....there was other stuff involved but cannot remember clearly what it was. As regards Edward V111, I had to look him up on the internet as the husband of Wallis Simpson as I'm not too good on who's who in royalty.

My dreams usually isn't very detailed and they also shift focus a lot, if I had stepped on that train I would probably have walked into a bank that was robbed by plumbers or something. My dreams are always vague so I rarely remember anything of them.

I think the only way that I remember them is because I have them near to when I am awake. As I now don't have to rush to work etc I try to keep them in my memory and write them down. Of course some "get away" to the "land where dreams go"!

Quick question Jazz - why did you see another train? - they didn't run that often - and the logical thing would have been to run back to Tynemouth Road and get a bus. I know - no logic to dreams, but there might have been a different ending. Keep that pen and paper handy

Patsie, that thought struck me too, but dreams don't seem to work in a logical manner! The carriage was different to what they used to be like or indeed what the present ones are like. Where the burial place was I don't know but logically it would have been Preston Cemetery I suppose, in North Shields. I'm looking forward to my next adventure into the mysterious world of dreams!

One interesting thought came to me.....I wish I could draw/paint scenes from these dreams.....surreal images or what! I came across a website which had done something unusual.....it had commissioned artists to copy in their own styles young children's artwork...5/6/7 year olds. Subjects like "a day at the beach", "my birthday" etc etc. Wish I'd bookmarked the site now......a similar thing with dreams would be a novel thing!

My Uncle had a dream: He was in France during the revolution, with his head was on the guillotine block and he could hear
the blade swishing down.
His wife came in the bedroom at that moment and tapped him on the neck, saying come on time for work............
