Unfortunately this is how it will continue. QPR most likely has offered more money than Ashley'd ever want to offer. I think though that they were close to signing Remy only QPR put in another last minute bid and started waving the bills his way. It's very frustrating that we are unable to compete with many other clubs when it comes to signing players. Since money goes over everything else for them. And considering the sums that spins around in football today I'd say that running a football club *is* a business and less of an entertainment. It hurts the football and I can't really see how it would turn around but instead the game will continue its downward spiral amongst monster salaries, transfer fees and agents. I guess it is over to plan B, unless Remy will sign for us anyway, and sign Kuqi again. It might not matter who we get into the club though since we still have a manager that is unable to get the best out of our players anyway.

True very true but i have never felt as bad as i do right now not even when we went down two seasons ago. Polly I share every one of your feelings. To suffer relegation once under Mikey was bad enough, however just the thought of it happening again under his ownership is enough to set me off.... We can all have a pop at the manager when it goes wrong and in some cases it's well justified, but no one must lose sight of the fact that our most benevolent shopkeeper hires and fires the buggers. My biggest fear is that should The Toon go down this time it could be a long haul to get back into the Premier League again. Quite a few players have already shown they don't have the spirit for a scrap and will jump ship leaving the Club in more of a mess than last time it happened. The January window is full of examples of panic buying to get out of the sh 1 t. I suspect come the end of the month we could see a few more happening first hand at The Toon which will have us all scratching our head going WTF! WL

Newcastle under Mikey will never break the bank to get a player in once an offer has been accepted or declined, that's it. Surely during the run up to this transfer someone at Newcastle cottoned on they were dealing with another money grabbing mercenary. After the amount of messing about last week with his Club and Agent he is another one that should have been told to go off and multiply with a big capital F. The contrast to the way Cisse was brought in is massive and for me the whole thing smacks of desperation...... Makes me wonder had Newcastle actually lined a replacement up before Ba left he would be through the door before now. Don't think Lambast**d has a Plan A never mind a Plan B, it's all guess work. I do understand where you are coming from regarding The Manager, however at times I feel for APee as considering what he has to work with it's hardly a surprise he is struggling to get anything out of some players. They either now want to jump ship, are still out injured or simply not up to the task and should be replaced ASAP! I'm sure the payoff when it does come will compensate for the hardship though. WL

Hey, whilst not being convinced that Remy was the right player for us anyway we can bear in mind that the used car salesman has already broken the backs of Southampton, Portsmouth and West Ham. QPR are also on course for the Championship. Should we mange to stay up then 'Arry's purchases, including Remy will be available at half price come the summer. Something has to be done about Lambiarse tho' - How the hell can a company, never mind a sports club exist with this man as it's front figure? Spotted this on Football365 it's a gem..... Harry's Game Harry Redknapp, Daily Mail, December 22: "I don't want to spend the owners' money really. I've got to be honest with you. I don't want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past. A lot of agents have made an awful lot of money out of them. I fined a player (Jose Bosingwa) last week and he was earning more than anybody at Tottenham, so that tells you everything. We've got a stadium that holds 18,000 people and shouldn't be paying big wages. Newcastle's ground holds 55,000 and I bet you most of their players won't be earning what our players are. So that is a problem." Daily Mail, January 15: 'Queens Park Rangers have hijacked Loic Remy's move to the Barclays Premier League and swooped to steal the France international from under Newcastle United's noses in an £8million move. It is understood Rangers offered double Newcastle's wages to put together an £80,000-a-week package for the striker who was Alan Pardew's No 1 target following the sale of Demba Ba to Chelsea.' Good to see 'honest' Harry sticking to his guns until roughly four seconds after it became clear that QPR's owners were enthusiastically unbuckling their own pants. £80k a week plus a free should they go down.......Remy and his agent must be p*ssing themselves laughing. Fairs, I think it is irrelevant what happens to Redknap and QPR its our club that counts. NUFC has been dropping like a stone for long enough deals should have been put in place in readiness of the window opening although once the agents get a sniff everything is out in the open of course. Doing deals in January when your limited on how much you are willing to pay has obvious drawbacks you can set deals up then lose out too easily. ATB From where I am standing 'Arry and QPR are not irrelevant. Given that he takes the hoops down there would remain only two more relegation places. I sincerely hope that come May there are two more teams worse than us. As I see it 'Arry, along with Chelsea and Man City is damaging football a great deal more than Ashley. Pampering to moneygrabbing agents is not the way to go. At least we won't end up bankrupt!

Pampering to moneygrabbing agents is not the way to go. At least we won't end up bankrupt! Hmm.. Bankrupt can mean a person with a record of failing; someone who loses consistently or someone who is bankrupt of ideas... Why are we talking relegation places? Surely someone at SJP has the nous and the means of getting us out of where we are? Are we seriously saying we have to rely on the likes of QPR failing to get us out of the mess the management has helped to create? I dont think so! The plain fact is this regime believes it can put in minimal bids for players who they have little or no chance of getting... Its only make believe.... The fans have believed them in the past because it worked, but their little scheme has run its course, people are wiser to it now. I cannot see the fans putting up with the lies and the deceit much longer, can you? ATB

Weve got a grip Cannyman I think we all know why he has chosen QPR after all nobody works for free he is quite entitled to select who he plays for. Its the way we try to do business by putting in lower bids then hoping both the club and the player bites their hands off that gets me, ok it worked for a while but I think people are wise to it now. This window is not open too long we are short of players not just for the Premiership but also for the Europa league there are 13 days left after today........
