Something is better than nothing. If Best gets injured we're in a deep mess. Our forward line was already in a mess because of poor planning. Effectively we could be down to having Ranger and Lovenkrands available up front as our only two recognised forwards. The thought of bringing in the two we are linked with just to make up the numbers doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I would have prefered the Club taking a punt on a lower league lad or we gave some of the kids a chance than hope players no one seems to want at all suddenly come good for us. Some of the decision making at Newcastle for so called hardened business men and football professionals is shocking. CWL

Maybe he could play emergency striker.

Here's a one for you to think about.....................Jonas along side Ranger up front with Ferguson playing left wing. He is not a goal scorer as such but I think he would cause havoc in that role. As no one, including his team mates, would have a clue what the hell he is going to do with the ball. CWL

Something is better than nothing. If Best gets injured we're in a deep mess. Not always true. If you have 10 players "carrying" the eleventh player you might as well stick to 10 players.

OMG.............Newcastle are now considering a shock (well that's true, shock horror! ) swoop for striker Shefki Kuqi. According to Sly Sports among others Finn Kuqi is available after having his contract with Championship side Swansea terminated by mutual consent last month. The powerful (your having a laugh) 34-year-old forward, who has played for Stockport, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Blackburn and Crystal Palace would bring a physical presence (take that to mean another body on the pitch) to the Magpies’ front line. Can the barrel Pardew is looking in actually get any worse? CWL

Jus hearing that Pards has promised a new striker within 24 hours...Lets hope it's Theirry henry but with Blackburn being our next game it might end up being an ex-blackburn striker
