Sorry to have to use this forum for my own personal interests but I am getting quite desperate now. Black Jack is an un-neutered Tom cat of only 1 and 1/2 yrs old. His usual routine is to sleep all day and go out all night. we are happy to let him do this, but he has not come back since Friday 17th Feb. I am ok if he is going about his own business, as I don't own him, he just lives with us, but I am worried about him, and worrying about if he is safe and well. Has anyone come across a black cat in their area?

Have you tried the local vets bansh? It might be worth putting up a poster there. As Jazz said, Munchkin went missing, and we were going mental, but he turned up over 3 weeks (not 2 weeks like Jazz said) later, thin as hell. And old Munch is not the sharpest knife in the box, we think he might have been trapped in somewhere. So it might be worth asking the neighbours to have a look in their sheds and garages. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Jazz and Ann. I remember when your Munchkin went missing, and his return, so I do have hope. I know Blackjack is a typical selfish, self centred Tomcat, and has always done his own thing. So I hope he is just out enjoying himself, or maybe even trying out a different home for a while. The fact that we love him to bits, will not even enter his head. I just hope he isnt trapped in anywhere, coz he is very nosey. We have accidently shut him in wardrobes and cupboards ourselves. I have made some posters to put up and will post in local doors too. I hadnt thought of contacting vets, so thanks for that I will do that first thing tomorrow.

have you tried standing outside shouting hay kitty kitty. Yes Skint, we have obviously been out calling him, but as an un- neutered tomcat he will have a regular roaming area of about 30 miles, so he could be anywhere. He was originally a feral cat from a feral community of cats in London, I just hope that he hasn't decided to try make his way back there.

Try asking Polly as his grey cat may have something to do with the disappearance. Friend of mine reckons her cats have at least three places they possibly call home. Just a matter of how much time they spend at each one. Hope your prodigal kitty turns up safe Bansh. CWL

Well things are not looking good-still not a trace of our missing cat and Im afraid that we wont see him again-really upsetting as he is only young too-like Bansh's cat just a little over a year old-I only hope he has gone to pastures new-when they vanish like this so many terrible thoughts go through your mind

He's probably found a more comfortable billet, cats are funny like that. The lass near us has "aquired" a cat, he must have belonged to someone as he had a collar on. She did ask around, but no joy, so he now lives with her. People do tend to feed cats if they think they are "strays". I wonder if bansh has found hers yet?

I think cats have a way of "landing on their paws" although it's natural for us humans to think the worst. Let's hope they're all OK.

Shads- has your cat come back yet? Black Jack is still missing. I have put notes through all local doors and phoned RSPCA & vets. We did get a call in response to the note from houses over the back, and they had caught the cat and kept it, but it was next doors cat who looks very similar to Black Jack. I just hope that he is maybe trying out a new home, at least that means he is safe. People tell me that he wil probably just turn up one day, as if nothing has happened. I hope so.
