According to the Daily Mail one of the Miliband brothers is joining the board of sunderland football club as vice chairman and will receive a salary of £50.000 . I feel this is utter greed and he has set himself up for an awful lot of stick Me thinks he has split the labour vote in Tyne & Wear at a stroke Me also thinks he is a greedy prat ;D

If you are saying that Milliband is earning 50,000 pounds a week, then his brother should resign as leader of the Labour Party. I'm a Labour supporter, and will wait for the facts to come out (I'm not a fan of the Daily Mail, and don't trust it), but I cannot support a Party which is led by the brother of someone who earns that kind of money. Okay, the idiots who are paying him the money are the people who are making the mistake, but true socialist should not exploit idiocy.

Ann, I doubt whether the author of this thread thinks it's per YEAR, or he wouldn't have spoken about greed. I could be wrong, though, and the papers just say 'salary', and that's why I put 'if' at the beginning of my posting.

Your off the mark Nick no where in my post did i suggest it was £50.000 a week and its wrong of you to suggest i did . If you have read any of my posts in the past about MPs you will know that i beleive that no MP or Councilor should have a 2nd job as it breads bias and it is that i refer to when i say its pure greed . Genuine socialist MPs are few and far between and the Miliband brothers came through the ranks of Tony Blair's NEW Labour who were as far as you can possibly get from being a socialists more like Tories in red ties.

nicknackpaddywack, I merely said that I doubted that a year was what you meant, but that I could be wrong. Apparently, I was wrong. Even in my first posting, I begin it by saying 'IF you mean a week', in other words, I'm not assuming anything.
By the way, I notice you still aren't telling us whether it is a year or a week. Do you know?

Nick i didn't / havent said it was annual or weekly for a reason and if you bothered to read the posts you will see that Ann1 told YOU that it wasn't weekly so that must mean it was annual doesn't it so why would i want to repeat what you have already been told Where I come from you are paid a weekly / monthly wage and an annual salary if you come from this neck of the woods i would expect you to know that as thats terminology we use around hear

I didn't know that salary meant annual. But I also refer you to the 'if' at the beginning of my first posting to you. And to the concession that I could be wrong, in my answer to Ann.
