Clasper village in Gateshead and Bleach green estate in Blaydon are going to get demolished Gateshead Council say it is cheaper to pull them down than do housing repairs, the main reason they want to pull them down is because of the Anti Social Behaviour in these 2 areas and modernising the houses wont make the area better, council residents are been offered over £4000 each to move and all the removal costs will be paid for, so much for making budget cuts, are they mad what happened to their policy if you cause bother in your area you will be kicked out your home, all they are doing is moving the problem to another area so what are they going to do keep knocking down estates because people living there are Anti Social, ive never heard of such an idiotic idea, mind you they are 2 nice areas housing developers would like to get hold i think there have been a few back handers going round here.

That is the stupidest idea Ive ever heard of.So in other words the trouble-makers will be coming to a place near you shortly with four thousand pounds in their pocket to boot.I do get tired of hearing about problem tenants being moved from place to place just to shift the problem and believe me when I say Ive seen exactly what this policy results in.Where I used to live-not the best place to start with anyway things went downhill at rocket speed after some "problem" famillies were moved over from Newcastle to Gateshead-we had drugs wars, battles between the families from there trying to gain control over the estate they were moved to and those families already there who thought they "owned" the estate fighting back-and it was specific families-everyone knew their names. We had stabbings,beatings,intimidation-just horrific-and the worst part is that these people were in the minority-there were plenty of decent people just trying to get by but got caught up in this crap.Gateshead council and Newcastle council too need to be looking after tenants who are are being decent tenants and start taking some serious action against those who persistantly engage in severe antisocial behaviour-but from what Ive seen they are more interested in dealing with minor stuff like inadequately washed tins in the recycling bins than getting tough with the violent and scary people who inhabit their properties. As to knocking down houses-you know when we lived in Walker we saw some beautiful houses down Pottery Bank and at first being new to the area we couldnt understand why they were empty-sharpish found out-no-one wanted to move there-and Ive heard theyve now been demolished-couldnt get over it-riverside views, modern houses-man what a waste

the 2 areas the council are talking about are not the worst estates in Gateshead by a long chalk so why dont they go for the worse estates first, the number one reason is these 2 are in good locations close to the river and not far from the Metro Centre and would be snapped up by housing developers, someone on Gatesheads council will have some large deposits made into their bank account when these sites are sold Gateshead council and dodgy dealings are nothing new.
