Well I wonder how people feel about Cameron using his "veto " this week. Will it be better for us or not ? I have to confess Ive only been able to catch snippets but I was quite depressed to see the old attitudes coming forth at the news.Plenty of Anti German/French comments and my God how many references to the war have I read ? I don't really understand the whole thing but tend to agree with Clegg and the Labour viewpoint that we may eventually end up as being too isolated from the rest of Europe. Is our "island nation" mentality coming to the fore here?

I think he's right in principle but he has not got any safeguard's . I think he's regretted and maybe not done exactly what he in hindsight and the country wanted. Mind you the Swiss aren't doing so bad on their own.

I was always pro europe but as they are all as broke as us then maye we need to be a bit selfish and look out for ourselves. We should be wooing the BRIC countries ( Brazil, Russia, India , China.) Germany has managed to get into China. So they are oviously thinking of themselves. What Cameron's priority should be is what is best for us. I would have thought it would be remaining within a group. But that might be based on me not trusting anything Cameron says or does.

People have short memories, When i vote on Europe many years ago it was a vote on free trade in the common market NOT TO PASS LAWS ON THIS COUNTRY By people that are accountable to know one but themselves . GET OUT OF EUROPE Remember >> ( there will always be a England as long as England's free if England means as much to you as England means to me.) HIP HIP HIP.

I do have to agree. I remember voting yes for the (Common Market) as a free trade area which was a good idea. Now it's taken over our lives. Thankfully our island mentality stop us from joining the euro zone. We need to get back to the original remit, and nothing else.

We should have another referendum on it! No one under about 50 has had a chance to vote on it!! If I knew then what it would become, I'd never have voted yes!! Of course, that is why the gov - of any color - are frightened of having one! Or maybe they'd just keep having them like Eire did, until they got the outcome they want!!
