Here are a few of the street cats we came across in Istanbul. They are everywhere!!! Although they are "wild" cats, they are not feral, in fact nearly all of them are friendly - might be something to do with the meat I carried around to feed them with

Apparently Allah was a lover of cats...there are numerous tales about this fact and as Istanbul is mostly a Muslim city this may have some relevance to the abundance of street cats. I know, however, some other countries, especially warm ones have lots of cats but somehow they were very conspicuous in Istanbul.  |

This is my cat watching Springwatch. Just after I took this, he attacked the TV when he saw a blackbird on it!!!
