Ann, I'll conceede that perhaps Barton shouldn't have pulled Gervinho up like that but when Gervinho dived for a second time I felt the same frustration that Joey felt. Diving foreigners!!!!! It's so annoying to see that. And when slapped on the face Barton was right to go down. Any form of dissent by a fellow professional should go punished. I will say justice was delivered when Gervinho was sent off. He deserved it. BTW did you later see Song shake Barton's hand and make up??? That was guilt on Song's part....Dirty London bastards. The Arsenal fans think no end of themselves. Glad to see them fall and glad we started it with the 4-4! Barton was vindicated....He's a bloody legend the man!! and a great footballer  Again, I agree,(what's going on here)  |

Disagree...Barton is a f*****g legend....Gervinho is a diving c**t and deserved to be sent off one way or another....And who stamped on Barton! Had barton been the one to stamp on another player all would have been on his back! He did nothing wrong...A better player there never will be...Love the man...Love the player....Forever a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree,Barton is now singled out big style,if canny was there and actually saw the stick Joey has to endure,he get's no protection ,WHATSOEVER,I think his breaking point is quite high,a good player too. You might well have a point there Marky.....TV doesnt show all. |

I have grown to like Barton as a player and agree his rep does him no favours in the protection department from officials. That said he is always one 'Red Mist' moment away from a sending off in every game......... His fellow Pros know that and work on it. Song stamping on him was very deliberate, if cowardly and certainly IMO a factor that eventually led to the other incident where Joey man handled Gervinho. Not saying he was correct or wrong to do so and even he admitted it was probably stupid, however it's part of his make up when he thinks an injustice has been done. As things stand statistically we are a better side with him than without him. He certainly maintains the spirit within the team although for how much longer is open to debate. Since the Club awarded Stroller a new deal I believe Barton should be offered a two year deal with option for a third year. Not convinced it will happen though............. CWL  |

I hope wor Jeoy gets a new deal. He has earned it. He is a shining example of why people deserve a second chance in life. I hope he gets an England cap. Won't happen under that foolish Capello though...But I won't get into the whole England argument now...

It would appear best mate Kevin Nolan is leading the campaign to encourage Joey to join him at The Hammers. With nine days of the window to go I will still not be surprised to see him stay or leave for that matter............. As well as being just plain annoying it's more evidence of poor management and brinkmanship from our most benevolent Owner. CWL  |
