Been watching the local news earlier, and they were on a bout that lad that fell off a balcony in Greece about, I think 11 years ago. He was left on a hospital trolly, and died through lack of care. A Greek doctor has been prosecuted for it. When the lad was sent home it was found that he was missing a kidney.
The family have been going on about it since. If you are dead, does it really matter if bits are taken from you? The only problem I have with this case is, that the Greeks sent a kidney back and tried to pass it off as his. What they should have done is said, "yes we took it for a transplant" Personally it would not bother me, I would prefer to be asked, but if time is of the essence, then why not? I think there should be a change in the law, so you have to opt out, rather than opt in.

I offered my bits to the medical world and was turned down!!! that is demoralising, nothing worth having when I pop my clogs? I might leave the body to a dog food processor

If you leave your whole body for the students to practice on, it'll save a fortune in funeral fees ;D Don't think my bits will be any use either, but they are welcome to them!!

the problem here is not does it matter if bits are missing if you die, the problem is he could have been saved but the Greek doctor probably thought, i know someone who needs a kidney and saw £££££££££.

The doctor has been charged and sentenced though skint. They exhumed him just to prove the kidney they sent back as his, is not! What I'm saying is, now that the doc who was negligent has been sorted, is it really worth all the heartbreak and hassle?

i know what you mean, but they want to know if the kidney sent back was their sons or not as the Greek authorities said it was but the DNA said it wasnt, plus if it's proved it was not their sons they can sue the Rses off the Greeks.
