Do any of you remember the custom of the Bride and Groom chucking a load of coins into the street? I remember how exciting it used to be as a kid seeing a wedding-especially if it was in your area-last one I saw like that was my Aunties when I was about seven and it was the old coins being chucked

I remember that very well, if you got a sixpence it started a fight with the other kids. mostly the car would pull away and then the coins would be flung out out of the window, when I was a kid we would chant ' hey canny lad hoy a happney oot' later i found that this was part of a traditional Geordie song, Regards G
