Horse killers

Looking through the online Chronicle tonight I saw the horrible story about the killing of a foal and the cutting off of the manes and tails of two horses the night before.

It reminded me of many years back when as a girl I used to spent a great deal of time in a stables and there were often horses brought in from fields with injuries caused by humans-my mates pony came in with rope burns on its head and whip marks on its sides.

Ive also heard a few other stories over recent years about people stabbing horses.

I absolutely love horses-to me they are one of the most beautiful creatures on this earth and I just cant comprehend how anyone could want to harm one.

You know sometimes I despair at the human race and the things we do to animals-not just this example but all the other horrible things we do too

You know what gets me about stories like this? It's the mentality of the sort of people who do these sorts of things!!! What the hell are they thinking of?

I don't know what pleasure they get out of it either, we should do the same to them as they do to the animals, poetic justice
