Internet Trolls

I was listening to an interesting radio discussion about Trolls and some self confessed trolls were giving their viewpoints also.

Have to admit it was fascinating.

There was an American bloke living in London and he and his girlfriend took great delight in joining forums with the sole purpose of shaking people up-I dont mean posting an alternate viewpoint or challenging owt-I mean they actually got pleasure out of thinking they were causing others real distress from behind the keyboard

And I learned a new term-Flaming

Looking back over the years I was on the EC HYS-so any things fall into place

Yeah, wherever there are internet forums there will be trolls.

When we get big enough we will probably see our fair share of them..

Thanks Shadow very interesting, not heard the term before either.
Still can't understand the mentality, must be something lacking in there lives. Very sad people.
No accounting for taste, well I mean some people join the Conservative Party.

I believe the theory they have is that they are shaking up the status quo and laughing at the saddos who contribute to forums-their words not mine

We have some genuine members on here-who may not be posting right now-who are well capable of challenging peoples perceptions and opinions but who do that from the perspective of real life and their own experiences.

Thats very different from trying to target one person or bring down an entire forum-depriving those who wish to contribute that choice.

The trolls brought down the EC HYS-and its not impossible that some will try and join this forum-however I'd like to think that they'll get short shrift on here-and Im not talking about from the mods either
