I doubt it. Looks like theyre about fifteen years out of date And there is a shore involved in the life of your average Geordie - Whitley Bay. A few miles east of the city, it's where the masses head on any Bank Holiday Monday, transforming it into the Bigg-Market-by-the-Sea. Bikinis optional. I havent been there for about four years now-last time I went it was that run down I vowed never to do the drive again until things drastically changed. One unfriendly sea front chippy,a ton of rubbish to step over on the way to the beach-police and drunks everywhere-total crap. Then again-maybe it is a bit like the Bigg Market

Shads have you ever been to Ayia Napa in Cyprus? That's the Bigg Market on a hill with Sun..............Well it shines during the day, but quite a few people there never saw it as they were sleeping off the excesses of the previous night! CWL

Mine too. The further I am from Brits abroad the better Ive never been to Cyprus CWL and after seeing that picture Im bloody glad A place that I really loved was the Greek Island of Lesvos. If there was ever a place unspoiled it was there. Wonderful island with plenty of beautiful shores and people. As to Geordie shore-an embarrassment to the entire region.

Only visited it once out of curiosity as like yourselves not really my idea of a holiday destination. Friend of mine had family on the island and as we had heard at that time it was the place for a good night out they arranged for us to visit. Well as I said for me it was The Bigg Market on a hill............ with most of the holiday makers blasted out of their brains. Three hours of it was enough to last me a life time.............. The funny thing was we had also heard so much about it as a resort, but it just left me wondering why. In daylight we saw a tiny little harbour with a beach that was nothing special and accommodation around the place didn't look that great either. Only conclusion I came to was that young people could go mental there with no hassle. Much preferred some of the other places we were taken by locals................superb beaches, with quieter bars and better restaurants. Plus plenty of places to walk where you did not need to step over someone who was sleeping or worse still busy throwing up................ Kind of put us off visiting Cyprus for a while. CWL

I cant imagine anything worse CWL. I went to Lesvos about twenty two years ago now-one of the best places Ive ever been to-at that time there were no nightclubs at the resort-we stayed in Petra-and relatively few tourists. The beaches were wonderfully uncrowded and the locals were incredibly friendly. I was just googling it and it seems theyve now built some nightclubs and introduced a bus service to Molyvos but I'd still love to return there one day Talking of Geordie Shore-was forced to watch some of it this morning again as the kids had it on-there appears to be a woman from Middlesborough on there too so at least its not just us Geordies cringing

I'm back off to Cyprus in August - had a fabulous holiday thee last year. A little, quiet place outside Fig Tree Bay. Almost too little night life but great hotel and location. All a matter of taste I suppose.
It's certainly not all Ayia Napa - that's rather like saying the whole of NE England is like the Bigg Market.

My old boss went there a few years ago, his son was stationed there, and he said it was a really nice place. I'd like to go - but well away from Aiay Napa!!!!!!!!!!
