I'm so happy that Leon Best scored a hattrick. It will help his confidence no end.
I've always believed in Best, and thought he was so close to getting goal of the season last season, when he hit the cross-bar with that wondrous shot at Plymouth. I'm aware that he's got many many critics, and I'm also aware that those critics will not be convinced by just one match. But certainly, his performance today can NOT be discounted.

My point was all about confidence. Many fans were repeatedly saying that Best was total and utter rubbish. Those fans didn't understand, or care, that the damage to Best's confidence, was harmful to a Toon player, and therefor harmful to Newcastle United.
Best's hattrick didn't prove anything, but it did repair the damage that those fans did to Newcastle United.
