Right, so we survived to live yet another season in PL which in my opinion was our expected target considering our paper thin squad and the sale of our main striker.
A long summer awaits and it now remains to see what our happy trio can dish up during the months to come.
One observation from this poster is two top class strikers (not Carlton Cole) has to be priority.
Pardupe insists he is excited about rebuilding - it remains to see if Ashley is in benevolent mood.

We'll see by the end of August what players has been brought in and what players has been lost.
Rumors like selling Enrique for Konchesky and Tioté for Palacios scares me though.
Going after Cole and Bothroyd doesn't make me very optimistic either.
Wonder how much Pardew will be given to spend, seems like the sum is going down every week... didn't he get 17 mill to spend out of those 35?
So before Carroll was sold Pardew had -18 mill to spend on transfers?

From my point of view achieving safety was the first objective, however I reckon it was achieved as much by good fortune as good planning. We are back to where we have been previously with The Fat Controller  and his cohorts. In that having made certain declarations to the supporters we now see whether they materialise or are quite simply a pack of lies. Probably end up being a mixture of the two............. Money will be spent............quite how much and on what remains to be seen. Players will arrive and possibly just as crucial some will leave. Again who remains to be seen. It's open to more speculation whether our benevolent owner will finally show some real ambition this summer or not. It will again be through the action the Club's management takes on which we can make judgements. Will they prove the doubters, cynics or true believers of the Ashley way of financial prudence (sic) and his five year plan correct or wrong? We shall see, but so far until that happens it's all just hot air and a potential waste of ink! All of which has a very familiar feel about it heading into the close season and not just because of The Fat Controller! CWL  |
