I've spent today at my daughter's college, she is studying media and theatrical makeup....Anyhoo, she camouflaged a little of my vitiligo (white skin pigmentation), and also one of my tattooes. Next week she has to do three different things, ie, stretch marks, tattoo, vitiligo, thread veins, birth marks, strawberry marks, roscea, basically anything that is either not raised or an indentation of the skin in order to be assessed...........so if anyone fancies spending a couple of hours at Newcastle College next Weds between 12-9pm, she would be very grateful, as would I ;D

I love the "Grafitti Eyes" A couple of them look like what I used to do on mine in the 60's!!!!! If she can get rid of wrinkles, I'm yer man

Well she worked wonders making my tattoo disappear, no mean feat, im sure she will upload the pics......she has a true talent for art.....oh ive no idea where she gets it from lol but she got an A level in Art too....Can you tell Im a proud mum lol xxx

because of my skin condition, I get camouflage make up on prescription from my GP now that Ive been assessed at the hospital....the makeup is amazing without feeling heavy....... ;D

Im waiting for Abs to upload the finished product, but it is very clever and beats lazer surgery any day of the week! Coz I love my tatts anyway lol

Camouflage make-up is amazing.

At a burns weekend we went to-well 3 years ago now- we saw examples of what it does for burns survivors.

I know Katie Piper-the woman burned in the face with acid-uses it and in her photos the affect is fantastic in covering her scars.

Shads, it is amazing stuff, and yes I did think of you, but didn't feel it appropriate to raise the subject. My condition is purely cosmetic, not life changing, but it is a truly wonderful transformation for real disfigurements, and is definitely worth an hour or so applying, just to see the delight in the faces of those who thought they would forever live with themselves facing a lifetime of torment.

Its definitely something to be considered for the future.

I think it depends on what you can tolerate in terms of peoples responses.

On the one hand there is the theory that people should take you as you are and being frank thats kinda the road I lean to but theres the other side of the coin-for a days peace without what we call gawkers -I dont mean people who clearly look because its a surprise initially or out of sympathy but the full blown stareres who take a first,second then third look before whispering to their companion or practically having their eyes popping out their heads-well I can see the appeal too.

Its not gonna be my decision to make but I do know people for whom it really has helped them cope and thats always a good thing-not every person wants to fight every day for the right to walk down the street without comment.
