This weekend the Mags return to SJP for their final Saturday home fixture of the season against Birmingham City. Alex McLeish will be desperate to take something away from this game, with the assistance of a number of Newcastle old boys, to avoid dropping further into the relegation dog fight. Stephen Carr and Lee Bowyer are both expected to be in the starting line up come three pm tomorrow afternoon. One old boy who will not be making an appearance is Oba Martins who after suffering a stress fracture is out for the rest of the season and likely to return back to his Russian Club. Craig Gardner was sent off last week against Wolves and is banned, while fellow midfielder David Bentley is reported to have walked out in a massive strop when not picked for that game. Team news for The Toon centres around an enforced change in the back four with Mike Williamson suffering a freak break of a bone in his arm during training. His place will be taken up by the returning Stephen Taylor. Three young men who will be very pleased this weekend are Phil Airey, Michael Richardson and James Tavernier all who have yet to debut in the Premier League, but have been included in Saturdays squad. Will The Toon make it a comfortable double over the Blues or will McLeish's men spoil the party? What do you think? CWL

Hard to predict this one, our players seems to be thinking about their holidays already.
Eyes will be on Larsson in this game considering the rumors about him moving to Newcastle, he's playing for everyone else's attention tomorrow and will probably keep up his form.
Something tells me that Bentley won't be picked for this game either if his behaviour is true.

I just feel uneasy now about Newcastle....has all this talk of "we're safe now" somehow had an impact. We really need to get that "fighting spirit" back....maybe, hopefully, tomorrow? 2-0 to Toon. .........but haven't any idea who's going to score them!

5 points from the last 24 isn't it? We may not go down but I fear it's going to be skin of the teeth job. But then survival was always the ambition of these jokers.
