Isn't amazing who you get talking too when you are out and about. I bumped into Sir John Hall today when shopping in a well known Garden Centre. I had met Sir John many years ago when working on the site clearance for the Metro Centre. Spotting me in my wheel Chair he came straight over and said hello, we talked for quite some time before he went on his way, before going he told me Newcastle were getting beat 3-0. He had not changed, in fact looked many years younger than his age. It was a pleasant meeting

Indeed it is Ive also met people who were in the public eye at one time or another altho I would prefer not to mention them by name. Its interesting to have a chat with some-one person to person then find out later that they had a public history. Im not sure if I would be that bothered if they remembered me mind Does it matter???

Yes, we usually end up talking to "interesting" people as well!! They are usually 4 sheets to the wind, and eager to tell us their life story!! We must have "good listeners" running through like a stick of rock!! ;D

No, it does not matter, nor was it meant too, but it would appear you think that was the reason for posting. In my time I have met many people who have been in the lime light, I once shared a train journey with Henry Cooper, a very nice man, who sadly died last night

Mumbled a few words to Malcolm Allison, pis..d as a newt coming up on the train from Kings Cross. Saw "Hilda Ogden" marching down a train carriage near Manchester & acting like the Queen! Also, Matthew Kelly at a place I was working at....bloody hell, he's tall.....TV crew buzzing around him as though he was the Queen Bee! Met Valerie Singleton....(remember her!) years ago but can't remember much about her. One or two others I've met, seen over the years......anyone living in London must see these "personalities" all the time....interesting to see them in a "normal" setting though!

Bumped into Elton John, literally, on the Champs Elysees two years ago. A couple of expletives and then a smile and an apology from him. ;D
